The yet-to-be resolved WGA strike has left many cast and crew members of several shows with a good amount of free time, and Criminal Minds actress AJ Cook has been taking advantage, using her unexpected break to catch up on things she normally wouldn't be able to squeeze into her busy work schedule.
"I've been a good little housewife — decorating the house, put up the tree, did a little Martha Stewart making crafts — just doing stuff I don't normally get to do," Cook told the Ventura County Star. "I've been doing a lot of reading and writing. It's funny; you just seem to be busier when you're not working somehow — I don't know how that works."

The writers' strike has sadly left CBS with a nearly empty cupboard of fresh episodes and continues to take its toll on one of the highly rated series of the network, Criminal Minds. As previously reported, the network has made some substitutions in its scheduling broadcast, replacing several new episodes of the crime drama with some reruns.
Most recently, the network aired a rebroadcast of the third season's “About Face” episode on December 19, 2007 instead of the first-run “3rd Life,” which is the 11th episode of the season. Four weeks after airing the 10th episode “Birthright,” CBS finally sets the date of the deferred episode of Criminal Minds.
December 19, 2007
For the fourth week in a row, CBS' Criminal Minds has ranked number 1 in its 9pm to 10pm ET/PT slot, winning in all key measures with its new episode. The drama series created by Jeff Davis continues to lure audience with its team of profilers as they analyze the country's most twisted criminal minds to anticipate their next moves before they strike again.
Giving more confirmation to the success of the series is last week's episode called “Birthright,” which finds the BAU team investigating a series of murders in rural Virginia with a link to a killing spree that transpired two decades ago.

Since it premiered in 2005, Criminal Minds has earned acclaim for its distinction from other police procedural dramas. Instead of focusing on the crime, the show gives attention to the criminal as explored by a team of profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) at Quantico, Virginia. In line with this, cast member AJ Cook adds a few more reasons to watch the CBS show for those who have not yet seen the crime series.

Tonight, fans will have to endure a repeat episode of Criminal Minds entitled “Scared to Death” in which Hotchner and the team track down a serial killer who exploits his role as a psychiatrist to find out his victims worst fears, then uses them as means to kill. Nevertheless, CBS will serve its viewers two new episodes in the next two weeks.
We've already hinted on next week's “Birthright” and now, we'll be giving a preview of what's about to happen in the following episode called “3rd Life,” which is set to air on December 19.

Another killing spree has been committed, driving the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit to embark on a quest to find a psycho who likes to put his victims in a delusional mind game in the episode entitled “Birthright,” which is expected to air on December 12.
Currently in its third season, Criminal Minds follows an elite team of FBI profilers who studies a criminal's behavior for clues that will help them anticipate the next move of the offender before he or she strikes again. The team consists of Special Agent Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), the daughter of high-powered diplomats who continues to prove her worth to Hotchner, obsessional crimes expert Special Agent Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), the highly intellectual Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), the team's liaison Jennifer "J.J." Jareau (AJ Cook), and computer wizard Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), who all put their areas of expertise forward in attempt to catch the country's most twisted criminal minds.
