Articles for Cougar Town Season 1

ABC unveiled its Fall schedule today and it features an ambitious lineup of new series to premiere all season long.  The schedule features eight new shows, including a Wednesday night that contains nothing but new programs.  This is identical to the strategy ABC used two years ago when it premiered three new hour-long shows on Wednesdays. The new Wednesday, however, features four new half-hour comedies which I will tentatively title the Back to You reject lineup, as three of the sitcoms star former cast members of that failed FOX sitcom, including Kelsey Grammer, Patricia Heaton and Ty Burrell.  The other big change to the schedule is that Ugly Betty has been bumped to Fridays, wedged between Supernanny and 20/20.More Fall Lineups:FOXABCNBCCBSThe CW Read more »
Since her stint on long-running comedy Friends, fans of Courtney Cox have not really seen much of her, notwithstanding her starring role as cynical tabloid editor Lucy on Dirt which ran for two seasons.  Soon, however, 44-year-old Cox will back on the small screen for yet another starring role: this time, as a 40-year-old recent divorcee who‘s trying to spice up her dating life after a failed marriage and a sarcastic 17-year-old son.On Cougar Town, Cox plays Jules Cobb, a successful Florida career woman in real estate who has a non-existent love life.   "There comes a time in every woman‘s life when she has to take a long, hard look in the mirror and ask herself, ‘What the hell is that?‘ For me, that time has come... Lately, I‘ve been feeling like I‘m gonna shriveled up and die if I just don‘t get out there and start doing things."  With the help of good friend Elle (Christa Miller), she decides to take the plunge five months after the divorce. Her new yard sign, for one, were spiced up by Elle that surprisingly made a fan base for Jules. Read more »
Do you feel that the actor who plays Courtney Cox‘s boytoy on the rookie ABC comedy Cougar Town is not given enough screen time? Well worry no more, Nick Zano, the 31-year-old who plays the boytoy to Cox‘s cougar, is in negotiation with Melrose Place people to replace, sort of, the axed Colin Egglesfield, whose character Auggie was given the walking papers recently because his character was "too dark" for Melrose.Entertainment Weekly reports that Zano, who was also on One Tree Hill and 7th Heaven, will play a doctor who works with Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) and Michael (Thomas Calabro) at Wilshire Memorial. Melrose Place showrunner Todd Slavkin said in a previous interview that the character is "irreverent and funny" as opposed to dark and brooding Auggie. The as yet unnamed new cast member will move into the building and will interact with Lauren. Read more »
