cold caseLast week's episode of Cold Case marked the return of the CBS police procedural drama after a month of absence on the airwaves.  When Lilly and the team returned for work at Philadelphia Police Department, they tried to solve the mystery involving a popular deaf teen who went missing in 2006 as they discover a substantial splatter of the boy's blood in a storage room at the high school for the deaf he attended.

Tonight, Lilly and the rest of detectives will embark on yet another cold case.  Read on to find out what's in store for the episode “The Road."

'Cold Case' Writer Weighs in on Strike

The cast of Cold Case Kate Purdy only started working as a writer for CBS' Cold Case this year, but this has not stopped her from joining the show's writing veterans on the picket lines for the ongoing writers' strike.  In fact, she's currently serving as a strike captain, organizing a group of 50 picketers each day.

At the root of the strike, Purdy said, is the “huge impact” of the world wide web.  "We're asking for 2.5 cents on every dollar they make from revenues resulting from shows being downloaded on the Internet,” she explained, adding that the “unfortunate thing is we can't even get the CEOs to negotiate or listen to any of our proposals.  They seem to be hoping we'll cave without them having to give anything."

'Cold Case' Upsets Conservative Group

cold caseCold Case, the forensic drama about a police division that specializes in investigating old and unsolved crimes, recently caught the attention of the Culture & Media Institute, which claims that a particular episode of the CBS series offensively portrayed Christians.

The conservative group, which aims “to advance, preserve, and help restore America's culture, character, traditional values, and morals against the assault of the liberal media," even described the episode entitled “That Woman,” which aired on September 30, as “a ham-handed attempt to influence this fall's congressional debate on abstinence education programs.”

'Cold Case' Celebrates its 100th Episode

cold caseAfter four years, the cast and crew of Cold Case remain keen and optimistic about what the future may hold for this CBS drama.  Part of the excitement is due to the fact that the hour-long police procedural drama will soon trample onto its 100th episode in just a few weeks.  Marking the milestone is the episode entitled “World's End,” which is scheduled to air on Sunday, November 4.

Kathryn Morris, who plays the lead character, Detective Lilly Rush, celebrated Cold Case's 100th episode with a bash two weeks ago, along with the rest of the cast and crew of the series.
