It's a great day for fans who are looking forward to Joss Whedon's new FOX series, Dollhouse. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator's latest foray into television is about a girl named Echo, played by Eliza Dushku, who is part of an elite group of people known as "dolls." These dolls are humans who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, making them the perfect undercover operatives for dangerous assignments.
It was previously announced that actors such as Olivia Williams and Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica) would be in the cast, and now two more familiar names have been announced for prominent roles: Harry Lennix (24) and former Angel actress Amy Acker.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was my favorite show while in high school. I had a bunch of friends who watched it and, like all of them, when we first became aware of the show we were all quite reticent to dive in. First of all, the title is simply ridiculous and it just didn't seem like a series that a fifteen year old guy would like. All it took was one viewing, however, and I was hooked. There had never been anything like it – it was a crazy comedy/horror/action/high-school drama hybrid that, somehow, spoke to me as a high schooler more so than any other high-school set series (to be fair, I had yet to discover Freaks and Geeks). Also, a teenage boy has no choice but to fall in love with Sarah Michelle Gellar after watching Buffy. I'd be lying if I said that had nothing to do with my fandom. The Paley Festival hosted a panel/reunion with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer team last night in Los Angeles. This is what went down.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans who live in Los Angeles and have some extra cash to spare will be feeling very lucky in March. That's when the cast of the classic genre series will be reuniting on stage for the 25th Annual Paley Television Festival. Named for William S. Paley, founder of both the Paley Center and the CBS network, the annual pop-culture event celebrates television's rich and diverse programming, as well as the creative process behind the medium. During the event, audience members will have a chance to ask the cast questions and see highlights of Buffy's seven-year run. PaleyFest 2008 will be taking place from March 14 to the 27, and will also feature other exciting events for television fans.

On television, there appears to be a gender bias when it comes to the portrayal of homosexuality. While gay men are catty best friends and deeply dramatic teens, lesbians are much rarer, unless you only count Showtime's The L Word. Why this is we're not quite sure, all we know is this: we love lesbians.
Going back through the years, we put together a list of our five favorite TV lesbians. These aren't the most socially important or famous like Ellen DeGeneres. Instead, we thought long and hard about the TV lesbians we loved to watch, the ones we fell in love with, and the ones who made us laugh out loud.

Great news for Joss Whedon fans around the world! After enjoying huge success with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel, as well as bringing sci-fi fan favorite Firefly to the big screen with Serenity, Whedon has another creation in the works, and it could be on the air as early as this spring.
Even better, the new series entitled Dollhouse will star Eliza Dushku, who played the Buffyverse's rogue vampire slayer Faith.

After Buffy the Vampire Slayer went off the air in 2003, fans found solace in a series of sold-out sing-alongs known as Buffyokes, where loyal fans, usually dolled up as their favorite characters, turn up for midnight screenings of a musical episode of the cult series entitled “Once More With Feeling.” Unfortunately, the sing-alongs are now being canceled.
According to Clinton McClung, the organizer of Buffyokes who stared the shows in Boston before spreading them across the country, the event became a surprising hit phenomenon that's consistently selling out in every place they perform in. Though the sing-alongs had been picking up steam since it launched last year, the cast weren't necessarily making a profit since the goal was just to create something self-sustaining, and the ticket price was just an attempt to cover the materials and travel expenses. Nevertheless, they were charging, which caught the attention of the Screen Actors Guild.

Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, was quote
d last week in the British newspaper, The Sun, that growing up as a child star on ABC's All My Children kept her on track. Gellar, who starred on the daytime soap from 1993 to 1995, said that growing up on the AMC set protected her from the excesses that have led the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears into headline-grabbing notoriety.
The 30-year-old actress, who won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Leading Actress in a Drama Series for her role on All My Children, said that working as a young actress taught her how to be disciplined.

Seth Green catapulted to fame as Daniel Osbourne, also known as Oz, on the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He was known as Willow’s first and only boyfriend. He was initially an active member of Buffy’s inner circle, despite being a werewolf. He first appeared on the episode "Inca Mummy Girl" in season two and became a recurring character on the succeeding seasons.
