Scotty Wandell (Luke Macfarlane) and Kevin Walker (Matthew Rhys) have come a long way since they first met. What started out as a professional relationship between a lawyer and a key witness has eventually budded into a romantic affair that has endured many storms. In the most recent episode of Brothers & Sisters, the gay couple has decided to take the next big step in their relationship as Kevin proposed and Scotty said yes.
Although homosexual relationships aren't prohibited on TV, only a number of shows have incorporated gay romantic scenes in their storylines. And because of this, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) compliments Brothers & Sisters and its home network ABC for giving importance to Kevin and Scotty's love story.

ABC's Brothers & Sisters has become somewhat of a family business for actors Patricia Wettig and Ken Olin. Wettig appears regularly on the show as Holly Harper, while husband Olin is an executive producer. Their son, 24-year-old Cliff Olin, works as a story editor on the series, and has penned several episodes, while their younger daughter Roxie tried out for the part of Holly's daughter, Rebecca (a role that ultimately went to Emily VanCamp).
"There's only so much nepotism we can do," Olin told USA Today, acknowledging the extent of his family's involvement with the show.
