Previously on Brothers & Sisters, Justin acknowledged his feelings for Rebecca and did his best to avoid her, hoping to suppress what he thought was incestuous attraction. In an effort to ease Justin's grief, Rebecca revealed the truth about her parentage and Justin immediately compared Rebecca to her lying mother and kicked her out of the house. In the wake of Ojai's catastrophic business deal, Sarah took all the blame for Saul's hasty decision regarding the company's expansion into China. Help came in the form of a merger with Walker Landing, thanks to Holly's devious scheme to bring down the Walkers. With the bank calling in its $20 million loan in 48 hours, Ojai had no option but to agree to the terms that made Holly chairman and CEO of both the vineyard and William's company. Moreover, Saul told Kevin the truth about his sexual identity, and Kevin made a heartwarming proposal to Scotty.

Scotty Wandell (Luke Macfarlane) and Kevin Walker (Matthew Rhys) have come a long way since they first met. What started out as a professional relationship between a lawyer and a key witness has eventually budded into a romantic affair that has endured many storms. In the most recent episode of Brothers & Sisters, the gay couple has decided to take the next big step in their relationship as Kevin proposed and Scotty said yes.
Although homosexual relationships aren't prohibited on TV, only a number of shows have incorporated gay romantic scenes in their storylines. And because of this, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) compliments Brothers & Sisters and its home network ABC for giving importance to Kevin and Scotty's love story.

Rob Lowe, who plays senator Robert McCallister on Brothers & Sisters, has filed three lawsuits last Monday against two of his former nannies and a former chef, accusing them of breach of contract, defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
In the case of one nanny, Lowe has actually aired his grievances on The Huffington Post. She is reportedly demanding $1.5 million from the actor and his wife Sheryl or she will engage in a scheme to hurt the couple by spreading “malicious lies.”
