Right off the bat, let me just say that I don't really know how to begin here. Probably like many of you Bones fans, I still haven't managed to wrap my head around what happened in last week's season ender. My mouth is still gaping open since my jaw started heading south midway thru that installment, until it finally fell to the floor at the bedside scene.
And yes, like most if not all of you, I would like to turn back time to before the writers' strike and have them rewrite the turn of events. Alas, it was real and we must, like Jericho and Moonlight fans, find a way to come to grips with Zach (Eric Millegan) having killed someone as the unfortunate Gormogon apprentice. I don't know if this helps any, but here's what Bones creator, Hart Hanson, had to say in an exclusive interview he gave to TV Guide. Remember – don't shoot the messenger here.

It's an evening of season enders tonight on FOX. Bones comes to its premature finale at 8pm, followed by the second half of House's own two-part closer at 9pm.
In tonight's gripping Bones season finale, the Gormogon serial killer strikes anew, at the expense of one of the Jeffersonian's very own. According to TV Guide's Ask Ausiello, there is the certainty of death, but, for whom?

FOX is the final network to have its upfronts this week. As far as upfront weeks go, it hasn't been the most exciting. In this Internet age we live in, secrets are almost impossible to keep – we all knew which shows were being canceled and which weren't. We knew which new series were going to be picked up. The one thing that networks can keep secret, however, are their final schedules. FOX released two schedules today, one for Fall and one for the Spring. Below, you will find the Fall schedule, followed by a look at the new series and some commentary.

As with House, its network-mate on FOX, tonight's Bones is the penultimate episode in the current season, shortened by the three-month long writers' strike from November 2007 to February 2008. American Idol's Ace Young and Brandon Rogers guest star in tonight's offering entitled “The Wannabe in the Weeds.”
Here's a look at what tonight's Bones will look like, as well as snippets from an interview with star Emily Deschanel, conducted by USA Today.

Technically speaking, tonight's edition of Bones is the third original, post-strike episode to air since Bones returned April 14. However, due to special extenuating circumstances, it's turned out more like the fourth, since “The Player Under Pressure,” which aired April 21, was actually an episode from the second season that was yanked from its original schedule in light of the Virginia Tech massacre. As such, it became a quasi-original offering because it was broadcast for the very first time.
Tonight's Bones entitled “The Verdict in the Story” features the return of veteran star, Ryan O'Neal, back in his role as Temperance Brennan's (Emily Deschanel) father.

Bones aficionados, here's your once in a lifetime chance to appear on the FOX police procedural drama starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz. Team Easton Gym Co. has come up with an auction that will allow fans to bid for a non-speaking walk-on role for the series.
Those who are interested can bid on eBay, which already kicked off on April 26. The auction has started from $20 and has attracted 17 bidders so far. But fans can still make an offer given that there are three days left before the bidding deadline.

Unlike most forensic procedurals, Bones focuses more on the relationship between living people than its dead bodies. This, according to lead actor David Boreanaz, is one of the reasons why the show has stayed fresh for many years.
“For me, I've always maintained that the show is about the relation. It's about the characters, about the two of us [Seeley Booth and Temperance Brennan] learning through solving a crime," said Boreanaz, who isn't really fond of serial killer storylines.

Almost exactly a year from its originally intended airdate, the episode called “The Player Under Pressure” finally airs on Bones tonight. This installment was actually scheduled for broadcast April 18 last year but had to be shelved temporarily in light of the story's similarity to real life events that occurred two days earlier.
On April 16, 2007, a 23-year old English major opened fire on his teachers and schoolmates at Virginia Tech. His sudden outburst of gunfire on the campus left 33 dead, including himself. It became the deadliest incident of mass shooting in the United States.
