In a shocking turn of events last season on Bones, we found out that Zack Addy (Eric Millegan) had been working with the twisted and elusive serial killer as the Gormogon's apprentice. Instead of facing the death penalty, however, he was declared insane and is to be put into an asylum. And because of this, Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan's (Emily Deschanel) forensic anthropology team at the Jeffersonian Institution is now one man down.
On the other hand, producers of Bones have decided to use this opportunity to creatively offer a different dynamic in the lab by featuring a rotation of grad students to fill in the void, instead of bringing on just one new squint.

It's seems rare today for any leading TV character to be a deeply religious person, yet FOX's massively underrated Bones does just that with FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), an intuitive if not altogether intelligent do-gooder who puts the bad guys away. A divorced father, viewers occasionally get to see Booth with his son, and the moments are tender and real, because it's all too apparent that Booth's motivations for putting away the bad guys is to make a better world for his son. He's charming, funny, a tad brutish but ultimately warm and caring, a combination that surely makes Seeley Booth one of the hottest dads on TV.

In just under three months, Emily Deschanel (Temperance Brennan) and David Boreanaz (Seeley Booth) will be back, along with most of their co-stars, when Bones returns with its fourth season September 3. As with a slew of returning shows this fall, Bones gallops back into our small screens via a two-hour premiere. Other FOX shows set to resume with two-episode openings include Prison Break, The Moment of Truth, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader and the much talked about newcomer from J.J. Abrams, Fringe.
By the time Bones is back on the air with a whole new batch of riveting stories to regale us week after week, most of us would hopefully already be recovered from losing teddy bear character, Zach to the dark side of the Gormogon. For the moment, here's something that, with any luck, might tickle the fancy of Bones fans particularly keen on the Booth-Brennan romance.

FOX is the most creative network around. You might hate some of the shows it produces (cough The Moment of Truth cough), but you have to give FOX props for the way it creates its schedule. If there is a new series the network is proud of, FOX promotes the hell out of it, and often premiere it after a veteran, highly rated series for good measure. Thanks to American Idol, FOX constructs two very distinct Fall and Winter/Spring seasons, dodging the inclination to air most of its big shows year-round. FOX has embraced the idea of airing its serial dramas with little or no breaks. Today, FOX released the schedule for their Fall premieres. There are a handful of two-hour premieres planned, including one for the most highly-anticipated new series of the Fall, the J.J. Abrams produced Fringe.

Two weeks have passed since Bones left a lot of us with mouths hanging open due to their shocking finale. Right off the bat, let me just say that I don't really know how to begin here. Probably like many of you Bones fans, I still haven't managed to wrap my head around what happened in last week's season ender. My mouth is still gaping open since my jaw started heading south midway thru that installment, until it finally fell to the floor at the bedside scene.
And yes, like most if not all of you, I would like to turn back time to before the writers' strike and have them rewrite the turn of events. Alas, it was real and we must, like Jericho and Moonlight fans, find a way to come to grips with Zach (Eric Millegan) having killed someone as the unfortunate Gormogon apprentice. I don't know if this helps any, but here's what Bones creator, Hart Hanson, had to say in an exclusive interview he gave to TV Guide. Remember – don't shoot the messenger here.

It's an evening of season enders tonight on FOX. Bones comes to its premature finale at 8pm, followed by the second half of House's own two-part closer at 9pm.
In tonight's gripping Bones season finale, the Gormogon serial killer strikes anew, at the expense of one of the Jeffersonian's very own. According to TV Guide's Ask Ausiello, there is the certainty of death, but, for whom?
