There‘s often a big debate among Big Brother fans about whether winning the first HoH competition is a good thing or a bad thing. Do you like Big Brother 16, but wish there was more than just 24/7 live feeds, three episodes per week and Big Brother: After Dark on TVGN? Well, YouTube is the answer. It‘s the first Power of Veto competition of Big Brother 16, which means it‘s time for the annual (and often hilarious) spelling bee. It‘s always fun to watch the HGs try to spell words. Brendon Villegas won this comp twice with the same word ("understanding") while less impressive wins came with words like "delivery" and "shotgun." But nothing will ever come close to Jeff Schroeder trying to spell "technotronics" in season 11.  Read more »
Big Brother fans love to debate the best moments and HGs of all-time. Sure, it‘s fun to think about who‘s better at the game, Dr. Will Kirby or Dan Gheesling, but just as important are the mistakes.  Read more »
The first week of Big Brother 16 featured some of the biggest twists in the show‘s history, but it had nothing to do with the two HoHs or the Battle of the Block competition. An all-male alliance quickly added two women thanks to Devin‘s bizarre decision to go rogue while Joey‘s attempts at uniting the girls failed and she decided to tell everyone about it.  Read more »
Big Brother 16 has a lot going on. With the addition of the Battle of the Block competition, the timeline of events in the house is dramatically compressed. While nominations typically haven‘t come until Friday afternoons, now the two HoHs must nominate faster than ever. Two and a half hours after the show ended, week 2 HoHs Amber and Devin got the keys to their HoH suite. And by 10pm PT, the TV screen in the living room announced "Nominations Today," causing everyone to freak out (though the screen lied as the feeds didn‘t cut away for the nomination ceremony until 30 minutes after midnight). Instead of having the whole night and the next day to campaign and plan, now there‘s a lot more scrambling and panic.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
The Big Brother 16 HGs had a very long night on Thursday. Following the end of the show, new HoHs Amber and Devin got their HoH suite and then had to make their nominations the same night. That was followed by various phrases coming over the loudspeakers in the house. The Battle of the Block competition was held in the wee hours of the morning.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »

The second week of Big Brother has been rather explosive in the past two years. We saw the end of the Moving Company when Nick Uhas was evicted last year and in season 14, Willie Hantz got expelled in the second week for headbutting Chef Joe. But none of that comes close to the insanity of the second week of Big Brother 16.  Read more »

For the first two weeks of Big Brother 16, the two HoHs were on the same page. They were all members of the Bomb Squad and, despite the eight-person alliance blowing up, nominations were relatively simple. What should be an easy week on Big Brother 16 is turning into a complex web of lies, deals, manipulations and treachery. The Bomb Squad being exposed has blown everyone‘s games up, adding plenty of drama.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
There are two kinds of players on Big Brother 16. There are the smart, strategic HGs who understand the game and know how to control their emotions and manipulate others. Then there are the HGs who are ruled by emotion and make crazy, irrational decisions based on them. Last week, Devin proved himself to be the latter, suddenly and randomly changing his mind about Donny and Brittany while alienating everyone in and out of the Bomb Squad.  Read more »
Now that we‘re past the extended first week and the Fourth of July falling in week 2, Big Brother 16 is back to a regular schedule. That means the Power of Veto competition takes place Saturday afternoon, and with the plan to backdoor Devin, there‘s only one thing that can mess it up. Well, maybe a few things.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »

The third week of Big Brother 16 has been relatively quiet. Nearly everyone in the house is on the same page, which is a lot different from the crazy scrambling and scheming last week to keep Zach safe. However, the downtime has allowed a few new formal alliances to blossom, and some potential showmances to heat up.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Everybody loves Donny. The bearded groundskeeper has unexpectedly become the sweetheart of Big Brother 16, winning over fans and even HGs like Devin, who called a house meeting to apologize for ever doubting him. He may not be the savviest player ever and he may not fit in with the young, sexy cast of this season, but in this episode he proves himself as the David who slays the Goliath.  Read more »
In the history of Big Brother, no one has ever been evicted in the first three weeks after winning two competitions. In fact, season 5‘s Jase Wirey and season 10‘s Jessie Godderz are the only HGs to win two or more competitions without making it to the jury. All of that could change this week on Big Brother 16.  Read more »
The power is up for grabs on Big Brother 16, and Thursdays‘ episode ended with the start of an endurance competition to decide the two HoHs in week 4. Following Devin‘s eviction, the 12 eligible HGs were randomly paired in duos, with the winners becoming the two HoHs.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
The Battle of the Block hasn‘t been very competitive on Big Brother 16. In week 1, Paola‘s general lack of ability lost it for her team. And in weeks 2 and 3, Paola and Caleb threw it. So maybe the fourth week will actually have a real competition.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
In the first three weeks of Big Brother 16, two-thirds of the original nominees have been women. In addition, seven of the first nine HoH and PoV competitions were won by men (and one of the others was only between the women). It‘s hard not to see an obvious gender disparity this year. Will the fourth week bring some equality, or will men continue to win and women continue to get nominated?SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Like with the HoH, the Power of Veto on Big Brother 16 has been dominated by men. Donny has won it twice and Devin won it once, with Zach, Derrick and Caleb being close seconds. Who won the PoV in week 4?SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
If Big Brother 15 was all about racism, then it‘s hard not to think Big Brother 16 is the season of misogyny. Joey was targeted in week 1 for daring to try and start an all-female alliance (even though it‘s perfectly fine for six guys to form an alliance on day 2). The vast majority of HoHs and all PoV winners have been men while, after this episode, three-quarters of all original nominees have been women. There was even a competition where the men were encouraged to throw Frisbees at the women.  Read more »
The Power of Veto has been used every week on Big Brother 16. Twice the replacement nominee has gone home (Joey and Devin), and the other time, Zach narrowly avoided eviction after a lot of hard work (by Derrick). What will happen in week 4 now that the PoV ceremony is over?SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Much like with Project Runway, on Big Brother 16 you‘re either in or you‘re out. From the ashes of the Bomb Squad, the Detonators have risen to power, with connections to Amber, Caleb, Hayden and Nicole. That leaves Jocasta, Donny, Brittany and Victoria on the outside.  Read more »
Sad news from outside of the Big Brother 16 house. Pop star Ariana Grande, Frankie‘s sister, has tweeted that their grandfather has passed away. Ariana mentioned that he was her "favorite person to ever exist."  Read more »
The Bomb Squad may be dead on Big Brother 16, but like a zombie, it‘s still terrorizing the game. There are only five HGs who were technically never in the Bomb Squad, and four of them were nominated this week, including the final nominees Brittany and Donny.  Read more »
There‘s a surprising amount of chaos in the Big Brother 16 house this week following Frankie and Zach winning HoH. Instead of another boring week with the Detonators in charge, there are explosions, implosions and alliances turning on each other.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
For the second week in a row on Big Brother 16, the Detonators are in charge. That should mean a quiet, boring week. But that fails to take one thing into account: Zach Rance. He might be one of the craziest people to ever play the game, and the result is chaos in the house.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
For the second time this week, the Big Brother 16 house has learned of tragic news. HG Frankie Grande‘s grandfather passed away earlier this week, and now, on the live feeds, fellow HG Derrick Levasseur has learned that his grandfather has passed away as well.  Read more »
On Big Brother 16, the Power of Veto has been used every week, whether it‘s won by a nominee, the HoH or someone else. The backdoor is very popular this year, so will that streak continue?SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
HoHitis is a very serious medical condition. When certain Big Brother houseguests win HoH, they can go mad with power and lose their minds. On Big Brother 16, that happened with Devin, and this week it happens with Zach. Luckily for us, Zach‘s particular brand of crazy is highly entertaining.  Read more »
Much like last year, the Power of Veto is very popular on Big Brother 16. In season 15 it was used in the first seven weeks, though the replacement nominee only went home three of those times. The PoV has been used four weeks in a row this year, so did this make it a five-peat?SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Caleb‘s obsession with Amber has been the top storyline of Big Brother 16. But this week, the dream (or nightmare) might be over. And it involved Caleb in a onesie and bunny slippers. A spectacularly complex two days of live feeds came to a boil late Tuesday night.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Amber has gotten a raw deal on Big Brother 16. Caleb is obsessively in love with her and she‘s not interested at all. Everyone in the house (except Caleb) has known this forever, but everyone keeps telling Caleb that Amber is the crazy one for not loving him.  Read more »
The HGs of Big Brother 16 love speculating. All week long they‘ve been talking about the possibility of an endurance HoH competition, or maybe even a double eviction. But on Wednesday, all signs pointed to another quiz to decide Thursday‘s HoHs.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Team America succeeded with its first two missions fairly easily on Big Brother 16. Frankie, Derrick and Donny each earned $10,000 thanks to getting people to believe Zach is Amanda Zuckerman‘s cousin and nominating Amber, but they failed to get a 20-second fight in the past week (though they think they won it). Now they have their fourth task, with less than a day to complete it.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Another woman is about to leave the Big Brother 16 house. After a week where all five remaining female HGs were put on the block and everyone conspired to turn Caleb against Amber, we‘ve reached the fifth eviction between Amber and Jocasta.  Read more »
For the first time in the show‘s history, a simple quiz on Big Brother 16 to decide the HoHs was not finished on Thursday‘s live episode. After 12 questions, Caleb, Zach, Donny, Hayden and Nicole were still in the hunt. Julie Chen cut to a commercial break and we learned the end wouldn‘t be revealed until Sunday‘s episode. Or right now.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
For a sixth week in a row on Big Brother 16, there are two HoHs and four nominees. With only 11 people, this means more than half of the house is involved in the nomination ceremony. Will the nominees be the same as always, or will we finally get some fresh blood on the block?SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
When it comes to the Battle of the Block competition on Big Brother 16, it‘s usually pretty easy to predict the winner. In the first five weeks, Paola, Victoria or Jocasta have been on the losing side every time. But what happens when the two sides are evenly matched with skill and lack thereof?SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
In the first five weeks of Big Brother 16, the Power of Veto has been won by the HoH, the nominees and other people who decided to use it. Though fans who only watch the episodes don‘t even know who won this week‘s HoH competition, the live feeds are already finished with the PoV competition.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
For the first five weeks of Big Brother 16, the original Bomb Squad (and its subset, the Detonators) have controlled the house. In this episode, there‘s finally some fresh blood in charge, which has some people worried and others excited. However, the Battle of the Block twist continues to make genuinely big moves virtually impossible as the weakest competitors are once again nominated.  Read more »
CBS has tweaked its summer finale schedule a bit and the result will make this the longest season of Big Brother ever in the U.S. The network is moving the finale of the Halle Berry drama Extant up a week to September 17. It was originally planned to end the following week with a two-hour finale after the premiere of Survivor, but now Survivor will get an expanded 90-minute premiere on September 24 at 8pm, followed by the 90-minute finale of Big Brother 16 at 9:30pm  Read more »

I think it‘s safe to call the Team America twist on Big Brother 16 an epic fail. Things were already bad when the first member of the three-person alliance voted by America was Joey, who was evicted before the other members were even chosen. After that, Donny, Frankie and Derrick were selected for Team America. Then came the second mission, in which they declared Amber a "physical threat" and were able to get $5,000 each for it.  Finally, they completely declined their fourth mission to cast two votes against the majority. Now things are falling apart.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Congratulations, Britney Haynes, you no longer have to suffer with the knowledge that your alliance had the dumbest name of all-time. While she often mocked the stupidity of the name Quack Pack in season 14, that‘s nothing compared to the Rationale of Big Brother 16. The alliance itself has potential to make a big difference in the game, but the name is ridiculous and pompous, like something a bunch of philosophy majors would name their college alt-rock band. Let‘s just hope they don‘t immediately decide to cannibalize themselves like the Bomb Squad and the Detonators. Read more »
The Big Brother 16 house has been fairly dull.  Almost every week we get unanimous votes, with everyone being on the same page. But this week, everything changed late Wednesday night, and it‘s going to lead to a truly explosive live double eviction.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
There are two live TV events that I look forward to every year: the Emmy Awards and the double eviction episodes of Big Brother. It‘s like Christmas in the summer, full of nonstop action, edge-of-your-seat excitement and shocking blindsides.  Read more »
The double eviction of Big Brother 16 is over, with Jocasta and Hayden becoming the first two members of the jury (though Julie Chen told them they might have a chance to come back into the game). After the show ended, there was a lot of scrambling, and by 9:30pm PT, the feeds went dark for the new HoH competition, which will once again crown two winners. The Battle of the Block is not over and that presents a lot of complications with just nine HGs.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
It‘s been a long time since there was a Team America mission on Big Brother 16, especially since they declined the last one. During the double eviction episode, viewers got to choose between asking them to form side alliances with the people they trust the least or convince someone to volunteer as a pawn and then evict them.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
The Big Brother 16 game really started to begin last week. All of the deals, alliances, flip-flops and scheming led to an intense double eviction that found Jocasta and Hayden becoming the first members of the jury. It looked like the Bomb Squad was back in control. But a lot can happen in 24 hours.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Inexplicably, the Battle of the Block twist continues on Big Brother 16. With only nine HGs left, one-third of them are guaranteed safety for the week after the competition is over. It‘s almost better to be nominated right away, because it gives you two chances to save yourself.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
It‘s been a volatile few days in the Big Brother 16 house and now there‘s another Power of Veto in play. It‘s been used six out of seven times, and Donny has already won three of them.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. That‘s the moral of this episode of Big Brother 16, as an attempt to use the Battle of the Block twist to their advantage blows up in the faces of Nicole, Zach, Caleb and a bunch of others. And, of course, it‘s all about Frankie.  Read more »
Last week, for the first time on Big Brother 16, the Power of Veto was not used. But it has been used every other time this season. This week there‘s another first, and it‘s a big one that I‘m sure the producers have been praying for.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
This episode of Big Brother 16 features an intense Power of Veto competition and a shocking, game-changing PoV ceremony. But none of that matters, because it‘s all about Ariana Grande!  Read more »
Big Brother 16 keeps on going and, once again, the Bomb Squad runs the show. The alliance may have died in week 2, but like a zombie invasion, it never stays dead. Every week the members fight amongst themselves, turn on each other, but then they reunite and decide to evict another outsider.  Read more »
There are many ways to decide nominations on Big Brother 16. You can put up your target. You can put up a pawn and try to backdoor your target. Or you can do whatever the house wants. This week, with Derrick and Frankie in charge, we witnessed the single dumbest way to pick nominees ever.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
The long national nightmare of Big Brother 16 is finally over. Julie Chen announced that this week‘s Battle of the Block marks the end of the double HoH twist which has successfully ruined the game and allowed the Bomb Squad to steamroll over everyone. How did the BotB end?SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
ZING! Though Big Brother 16 has been filled with boredom and disappointment, that sound is like a gift from the Gods. The Zingbot is back for this week‘s Power of Veto competition, but sadly we didn‘t get to see him show up on the live feeds. Instead, here are the results of the competition.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Much like the Reaping on The Hunger Games or the Sorting Hat from Harry Potter, this week the HGs on Big Brother 16 decided to leave their decisions up to fate. In the most random and unintended bit of product placement ever, a bag of Skittles decides the nominations instead of the HoHs, because this season isn‘t already embarrassing enough with the lame Battle of the Block twist and a powerhouse alliance with no real opposition.  Read more »
Big Brother 16 is a very unusual season. This week they picked Skittles out of a hat to decide the nominations, and now the Power of Veto ceremony is so staged that everyone, including the people involved, knew exactly what was going to happen beforehand.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
The Zingbot‘s arrival is usually the best episode of the season. But for Big Brother 16, it‘s also the worst. Tonight we get plenty of great zingers at the expense of the HGs, but we also see the entire house plotting against the most entertaining person on the show. It‘s hard to enjoy the Zingbot when Zach is on his way out the door, especially since it‘s at the hand of his best friend and after another Team America mission set him up as the fall guy.  Read more »
Thursday night on Big Brother 16, the game changed. The double HoH twist ended, there are no more Battle of the Block competitions, Zach was evicted and, in a rather lame and random competition, Nicole won her way back into the game. Now there‘s only one HoH, making it more important than ever.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers. Read more »
Big Brother 16 has been fairly stagnant, with a single powerhouse alliance (the loyal remnants of the Bomb Squad) controlling every single eviction. But perhaps a twist can change that.  Read more »
Now that Big Brother 16 is down to a single HoH, the game is much simpler. There‘s no need to worry about being dethroned, no need to put up weak players or pawns. Much like when Caleb won a single HoH during the double eviction, you can just nominate your two targets and be done with it.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Saturdays on Big Brother 16 are usually all about the Power of Veto. But due to a severe medical emergency in the house, one of the HGs has had to leave (either temporarily or permanently) to go to the hospital. And there‘s also news on this week‘s Team America mission.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
It was a busy day on Saturday in the Big Brother 16 house. Besides a brief medical emergency for one HG, there was also the usual Power of Veto competition. Without the Battle of the Block competition, this is the only opportunity for the nominees to save themselves.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 16 spoilers.  Read more »
Big Brother 16 is a numbers game. Unfortunately, the Bomb Squad has had the numbers every single week, even when they decided to take out some of their own like Devin, Amber and Zach. In this episode, the numbers are so obvious that the game itself is rendered meaningless. There‘s no point to campaigning or trying to use reason and logic, because numbers are all that matter.  Read more »
