In anticipation of the premiere of 90210 on September 2 on The CW, SOAPnet has decided to air a 24-hour marathon of the original drama Beverly Hills 90210 on Monday, September 1. The marathon will kick off at midnight and run through the entire day, featuring 24 pivotal episodes of the long-running prime time drama series created by Darren Star and produced by Aaron Spelling.
Beverly Hills 90210, for those who are not familiar, ran from October 4, 1990 to May 17, 2000 on FOX. The series followed the lives of a group of teenagers living in the upscale, start-studded community of Beverly Hills, California and attending the fictitious West Beverly Hills High School and then-fictitious California University. The show also addressed several topical issues like date rape, alcoholism, domestic violence, gay rights, drug abuse, teenage suicide, AIDS, and teenage pregnancy.

After his recent stints on the short-lived NBC series Windfall and the HBO drama John from Cincinnati, guess where Luke Perry lands next? Entertainment Weekly reports that he has been spotted in New York City shooting an episode for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, whose 10th season premieres on September 23. And he's not just appearing in any episode; he's starring in the season premiere, which also features guest stints from Sara Gilbert and Julie Bowen.
Sources reveal that the episode's plot will revolve around a couple (Perry and Bowen) who stand accused of abusing their foster child. Gilbert plays the child's biological mother.

The 90210 panel at the TCA press tour was full of surprises and information. Creator Gabe Sachs announced right away that the rumors are true and Shannen Doherty will be appearing on the new show, guest starring as a special drama teacher who will direct the high school's musical. Additionally, 90210 will premiere on September 2 with a two-hour pilot.
Doherty joins fellow Beverly Hills 90210 alumni Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling as the three confirmed returning stars, though fans will also get the return of the new and improved Peach Pit, still owned by Nat (Joe E. Tata). Though the producers refused to address specifics about what's happened to those characters, they promised that the roles will be recurring and not just random special cameos.

After rumors circulated that virtually everyone from the original cast of Beverly Hills 90210, such as Jason Priestly, Shannen Doherty, and Tori Spelling, might be reprising their roles in the 90s series, Luke Perry, for his part, refuses to be part of the revival party.
In an interview with TV Guide, while promoting Hallmark Channel's A Gunfighter's Pledge, said while he is not surprised that Doherty is returning to the zip code, he is not very keen on accepting any offers, should they come.

Various sources, as compiled by Entertainment Weekly, have reported that tabloid darling Shannen Doherty may just be coming back to CW's highly anticipated 90210 update. According to them, the show's producers recently met with Doherty to discuss this mind-blowing possibility. She is allegedly interested, but according to an insider, "she wants to know what the story is going to be first." Moreover, she is putting a higher price tag for her return.
This is certainly big news. As huge as Beverly Hills 90210 was during the 90s, fans knew how acrimonious Doherty's departure was. This forebodes a possible gap between potentially future co-stars Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth. On this Garth reasons that, “A lot of time has passed, and I'm a big girl. I'd have no problem with her coming on the show."

Now if only Shannen Doherty would sign up along with Luke Perry, the coming new 90210 series on The CW will really look like the zip code show that was one of my youth's guilty pleasures. I'm talking about the latest confirmed Beverly Hills 90210 alum to come on board the spin-off of the cult `90s teen drama. No less than Tori Spelling, daughter of the late Aaron Spelling who produced the original Beverly Hills 90210, is reprising her role of Donna Martin in the new incarnation of her former show.
Spelling will reunite with her former Beverly Hills co-star, Jennie Garth, who had already agreed to essay her old role of Kelly Taylor in the impending 90210 on The CW.

Unless you've been under the rock for the past three months, you've probably heard of 90210, the new Beverly Hills 90210 spin-off that's been picked up by The CW. In line with the official order, the network has also released the first cast photo, which includes Dustin Milligan, AnnaLynne McCord, Jessica Walter, Shenae Grimes, Tristan Wilds, Lori Loughlin, Ryan Eggold, Jessica Stroup and Michael Steger. While these names may have a lot to offer, the network is hoping to entice more of the show's original fans by booking Jennie Garth, who returns in a recurring role as her original character Kelly Taylor, now working as a guidance counselor, and Tori Spelling, who is currently negotiating for a possible return as well.
Noticeably, however, 90210 is still lacking of one more actor: the show's patriarch. Since the series is all about The Mills family, in the same way Beverly Hills 90210 focused on the Walsh family, filling the role of father Harry Mills is crucial. Unfortunately, producers are having difficulty eyeing someone they actually like.

The CW announced its fall schedule today and it features all good-looking people. I suppose one could make the argument that all television features good-looking people, but not to the extreme extent that the CW has taken it. You see, most of the CW's Fall schedule not only features good-looking people, the series themselves are about those people being good-looking, or at least it's a very important part of the series. There are three hours of new programming on the CW's Fall schedule, one of which may include the most highly-anticipated new series going into next season.
Before any Reaper fans go ballistic and worry about why the series isn't on the Fall schedule, don't worry. The CW has ordered 13 episodes of Reaper, which will hit the air at mid-season. There's a very good chance that it will take over Smallville's time slot at some point, but nothing is set in stone.
