Leticia Says 'Beauty and the Geek' is a "Self-Help" Show

March 10, 2008

When Leticia Cline was chosen to appear on the new season of Beauty and the Geek, she was nervous and happy at the same time.  Nervous because she was a stranger to the show and happy because she knew the contestants end up helping each other through the experience.

“I really hadn't watched the show before, but I like it because it is a self-help show,” Cline told the Glasgow Daily Times.  “The beauties help the geeks and the geeks help the beauties in a way.”

Beauty and the Geek 5: Preseason Power Rankings - The Beauties

March 6, 2008

On Tuesday, I presented you with my preseason ranked list of all the geeks on season 5 of Beauty and the Geek, and today I will do the same for the beauties. Just as it was difficult making judgments on the geeks based on a handful of words and a photo, it's actually even more difficult doing so for the beauties because they all seem so similar on paper. How many different kinds of models can there be, anyway? However, never fear, I have done all the hard work for you and have carefully pored through all the details that have been made public about these beauties in order to rank them.

Below, please find my Beauty and the Geek Preseason Power Rankings of the beauties.

Beauty and the Geek 5: Preseason Power Rankings - The Geeks

March 4, 2008

Last week, we met the nine male geeks and nine female beauties of season 5 of Beauty and the Geek who will begin their quest to become more than just beauties or more than just geeks, and perhaps winning $250,000 while they're at it. This season, instead of competing in beauty/geek pairs, it will be a battle of beauty versus geek. Which beauties and which geeks have the potential to make the biggest transformation? Who has what it takes to make it all the way? Well, it's too early to say. All we really know about them is what we've gathered from their pictures, their professions and their chosen monikers, but that's enough for me to make a preliminary analysis.

Below, I present to you my Beauty and the Geek Preseason Power Rankings of the geeks.

'Beauty and the Geek' Producer Teaming Up with Tyra

March 2, 2008

While Ashton Kutcher came to fame by playing the clueless Michael Kelso on That 70's Show, he's obviously a lot savvier in real life. He developed and starred in Punk'd, which both updated the always-popular Candid Camera concept for today and capitalized on the fevered level of celebrity obsession in our current culture. He and his team also saw that reality was a strong business to be in, and developed Beauty and the Geek, which is about to enter its fifth season with a premiere on March 11.

As we've already announced, Ashton also has plans to produce Game Show in My Head, and he's also starring himself in a few new film roles. But it's being reported that he's also finding time to team up with another celebrity-turned-reality-mogul, America's Next Top Model's Tyra Banks, to produce yet another new reality show for ABC.

Beauty and the Geek: Meet the Cast of Season 5

February 21, 2008

My favorite reality show is beginning again! Beauty and the Geek returns for a fifth season on Tuesday, March 11 at 8pm. There was a shocking twist last season, when we found out that the traditional teams consisting of the usual male geek/female beauty combo competed against one flip-flopped team of female geek/male beauty. There will be a new twist this season as well: instead of competing not as beauty/geek pairs but it will be beauties versus geeks. This should be good!

And without further ado, let's meet the contestants of Beauty and the Geek season 5.

Beauty and the Geek: Updates on Producer Ashton Kutcher

February 16, 2008

When he's not producing Beauty and the Geek, or creating new shows like Game Show in my Head, Ashton Kutcher is, of course, an actor, and, since his 2005 marriage to Demi Moore, a family man.

The new season of Beauty and the Geek will premiere in a few weeks on March 11, and in the meantime, we checked in to see what's new with producer Kutcher.

Beauty and the Geek: New Film for Hollie Winnard

February 10, 2008

She and her partner Josh Bishop-Moser were eliminated early on Beauty and the Geek 4, but Hollie Winnard was a favorite of many fans of the show who were sorry to see her leave.

After her time on Beauty and the Geek 4, she returned to work at Universal Studios Florida, where she's appeared as Betty Boop, Princess Fiona from Shrek and Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch. She's also branching out into more film roles, including a new one about which she just updated her fans.
