Before this season of Beauty and the Geek started, I made completely arbitrary Power Rankings of all the beauties and the geeks. Although they were completely superficial judgments, based only on each contestant's publicity photo and his or her tagline, it might be a worthwhile exercise to revisit my list to see how good my predictions were, especially since I've been told by more than one of the actual contestants that I was way off the mark.
Before I get to that, let me explain the thought process I had while ranking everyone. There were two different approaches I could have used: 1) rank people based on who I think will win, or 2) rank people based on who I most want to win. In hindsight, although I probably should have done option 1, I really ended up doing option 2.

We've reach the half-way point of season 5 of Beauty and the Geek, so tonight, instead of a regular episode, we've got "Extra Special: Beauty and the Geek Special." Four beauties and four geeks have fallen by the wayside, and there are only five more teams to go. Tonight, we get an hour of never-before-seen footage from the first six episode of the season. Clunky title, notwithstanding, I am actually looking forward to this clip show, even though I usually hate them, because we are promised a geek makeover for one Jim, who got eliminated too soon.
As expected, there was a lot that we had already seen, but here are some features from tonight's extra special episode that we haven't seen before.

Starting out as somewhat of an odd couple, Randi and Greg actually became one of the more entertaining teams in this fifth season of Beauty and the Geek. Greg is the shy, soft-spoken "Gaysian" from Azusa, California, and Randi is the aggressive, no-nonsense stylist from Missouri City, Texas, now residing in Houston. During her time on Beauty and the Geek, Randi famously fought with Amber, as well as with Joe in what were possibly the biggest blow-ups in the history of the show.
Greg and Randi lost against Tara and Joe in the elimination round last week, so they spoke to BuddyTV and shared their insights on being on the show. They were probably the most entertaining folks I got to talk to this season from Beauty and the Geek. As soon as I started talking to them, they laughed with each other about how much I sound like Cara.

Previously on Beauty and the Geek, the geeks went from drab to "fab," but Joe the former cowboy wasn't happy with his new look. Matt and Leticia won the soap opera challenge, and chose Randi and Greg to take out to dinner. That meant that the four remaining teams had to choose amongst themselves which team would be going to elimination tonight. After an impromptu cross-dressing challenge, they chose Joe and Tara to send to the elimination room.
Tonight's Beauty and the Geek with some scary sound effects. Leticia and Cara describe the spooky things that keep happening in the Beauty and the Geek mansion. Tara is also spooked by the supposedly haunted mansion.

Last night on Beauty and the Geek, the geeks clawed their way out of their nerdy cocoons and emerged as hip and suave butterflies. They shopped for brand new wardrobes, and left their entire fates in the hands of their stylists. The geeks were clipped and dyed, waxed and styled. It takes a lot of effort to get pretty - just ask any of the beauties!
BuddyTV gathered photos of the geeks before, during and after their makeovers. Read on to view a photo gallery of the geeks' transformation.

Previously on Beauty and the Geek, Tara chose Joe over Jonathan, so the mama's boy was sent home. In the mansion, the new teammates became roommates. Cara won the science fair challenge, and Tommy won the radio challenge. In the elimination room, Jim and Tiffany lost in a sudden-death matchup and were sent home.
Tonight's Beauty and the Geek begins with Leticia and Matt coming back, having survived the elimination. The rest of the girls are a bit bummed that it's Leticia back and not Tiffany. Leticia senses the distance between her and the other beauties, so she tells everyone that she'll try to be friendlier with the other girls.

Jonathan is one of nine geeks on the fifth season of Beauty and the Geek who are trying to prove that they were more than just socially awkward brainy types. He also does a killer velociraptor impression. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in last night's episode when Tara chose Joe over Jonathan to be her partner.
Jonathan spoke to BuddyTV today about his time on Beauty and the Geek. He described what really went on in the flag football game from episode 3, the beauties' behind-the-scenes machinations that led to his ouster from the show and his great triumph from the season premiere that did not make it to air on the episode. Below, you will find a detailed summary of our conversation.

The Young and the Restless will be playing a part in The CW's “ultimate social experiment” as cast members Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers Newman) welcome the hotties and nerds of Beauty and the Geek.
Previously on Beauty and the Geek, the newly formed beauty-geek duos were presented with challenges involving love and science. While the beauties worked on a homemade science project, the geeks offered relationship advice to live callers on Dr. Drew's nationally syndicated radio program, Loveline. At the end of the episode, Jim and Tiffany were eliminated.
