'As the World Turns' Goes Victorian on December 21

Next Friday, residents of Oakdale will be commemorating the holiday Victorian style.  As the World Turns will be airing a very special stand-alone episode that features the entire cast as they might have appeared during the the Victorian era.  Characters will be dolled up complete with corsets, exaggerated skirts supported by crinolines narrowed by way of the bustle, and frock coats to match the artistic setting that takes viewers back in time.

Giving more insights on the upcoming episode is the soap's costume designer Margarita Delgado, who described some of the cast's outfit and how she meticulously approached the project during an interview with Soap Opera Digest.

'As the World Turns' Actress Talks About a More Mature Bonnie

Chaunteé Schuler has recently joined the cast of As the World Turns as Bonnie McKechnie, the daughter of Duncan and Jessica.  But while her arrival in Oakdale considerably involves handling the legal troubles of the town's residents, specifically helping Holden (Jon Hensley) in his impending divorce from Lily (Martha Byrne), Schuler says that Bonnie's return also signifies a new beginning as she is now equipped with more wisdom and a sense of maturity.

“They will learn a little bit [about what Bonnie's been doing since she left Oakdale] but Bonnie returning is her way of starting a new chapter in her life.  There have been a lot of things that have happened that have been tough for her.  She returns to have a fresh start,” Schuler said.

Last week on As the World Turns, Gwen (Jennifer Landon) confided in Alison (Marnie Schulenburg) that she and Will (Jesse Soffer) are adopting, which eventually leads Alison to realize the similarities between Will and Gwen and Cole (Chris Heuisler) and Sofie's (Justine Cotsonas) adoptions. Luke (Van Hansis) confronted Lily Martha Byrne) about her affair with Dusty (Grayson McCouch), while Brad (Austin Peck) continued to pursue Katie (Terri Colombino).

This week, tension will spark in Oakdale as the long-running soap sheds light on Barbara's (Colleen Zenk Pinter) scheme, the adoption of Gwen and Will, and a relationship going awry.

Billy Magnussen Joins 'As the World Turns'

Fans, get ready for a new Casey Hughes.  Billy Magnussen will be joining the long-running soap, As the World Turns, to take over the character that has been missing from the drama since previous portrayer Zach Roerig exited on May 2.  The actor is expected to stir some controversy in Oakdale later this year following his current Broadway stint in the comedy The Ritz, which runs through December 9.

Earlier this week, Margo (Ellen Dolan) told Tom (Scott Holmes) that their only child together, Casey, might be home for Christmas. Though there is no word on the specific date of his return, many are speculating a holiday reunion is in the works.

After Rosanna (Cady McClain) found an email with Meg's test results, she tampered with the information, which has led Meg to believe that her husband Craig (Scott Bryce) is the father of her baby instead of Paul (Roger Howarth), whom she had an affair with.  Fans will learn more about the aftermath of Rosanna's devious scheme in this week's episodes of As the World Turns.
