as the world turnsLast week on As the World Turns, Dusty (Grayson McCouch) was met by a man who is trying to analyze what was in Dr. Bob's (Don Hastings) coffee cup that caused him to collapse.  Dusty soon learned that that there's definitely a foreign substance in the coffee and was suggested to get the medical records from Bob's admission to the hospital when they ran toxicology tests.  But when Emily (Kelley Menighan Hensley) overheard Dusty's conversation with the man, she demanded to know what he was up to and Dusty was forced to talk about his suspicions on Chris.  While Emily tried talking to Dusty into leaving Chris (Dylan Bruce) alone, Chris walked up and even encouraged Dusty to take up his suspicions to the police.

as the world turnsLast month, soap fans witnessed Brad Peck and Katie Peretti make love in attempt to fulfill Katie's wishes of having a baby on As the World Turns.  While Brad and Katie's intentions differ from one another, their portrayers in real life share the same sentiments when it comes to filming their characters love scenes.

According to Austin Peck, who has been portraying Brad since January 19, 2007, going under the sheets the first time with Terri Colombino, who has been playing Katie since 1998, is just simply funny.

Lily (Martha Byrne) accused Emily (Kelley Menighan Hensley) of ruining her relationship with Dusty (Grayson McCouch) by sleeping with him and threatened to tell Chris (Dylan Bruce) about this, while Tom (Scott Holmes) told Dusty to stay away from Bob (Don Hastings) and threatened him with a harassment suit.

As the World Turns: Art Imitates Life for Barbara Ryan

as the world turnsColleen Zenk Pinter was diagnosed with oral cancer last spring and now her character Barbara Ryan on As the World Turns is suffering a similar fate.

The 54-year-old soap veteran who has been playing the beleaguered fashionista turned criminal since 1978 was actually the one who initiated and suggested for the show to mirror what she experienced in real life.  Her character Barbara recently learned about her startling diagnosis, which was unfortunately on the same day she was banned from the baptism of her grandchild.

As the World Turns: Grayson McCouch to Leave Oakdale in 2008?

as the world turnsAfter four years of playing Dusty Donovan, Grayson McCouch has reportedly decided to leave As the World Turns early next year.  Though the departure of the 39-year-old actor hasn't been officially announced, various sources have hinted on the news.

Giving more confirmation to McCouch's exit is co-star Cady McClain's blog post last week.  In the article, the 38-year-old actress, who plays Rosanna Cabot on As the World Turns, has been vocal about her status on the long-running soap and has talked about her last day on the show.  She also mentions in the same post that her last day on the set, ironically, was the same as that of McCouch, who was presented with a cake and made his farewell speech to the cast and crew of the show.

as the world turnsPreviously on As the World Turns, Gwen (Jennifer Landon) convinced Will (Jesse Soffer) that they should help Sofie (Justine Cotsonas).  After a romantic bike ride, Alison (Marnie Schulenburg) and Aaron (Agim Kaba) reminisced about their past and made love.  Craig (Scott Bryce) confronted Rosanna (Cady McClain) with the tape from the lab and Craig did some research about drugs that can cause a miscarriage.

This week, more troubles are expected to brew in Oakdale as the residents get caught in a vengeful plot, while some get involve in a ruse.

'As the World Turns' Goes Victorian on December 21

as the world turnsNext Friday, residents of Oakdale will be commemorating the holiday Victorian style.  As the World Turns will be airing a very special stand-alone episode that features the entire cast as they might have appeared during the the Victorian era.  Characters will be dolled up complete with corsets, exaggerated skirts supported by crinolines narrowed by way of the bustle, and frock coats to match the artistic setting that takes viewers back in time.

Giving more insights on the upcoming episode is the soap's costume designer Margarita Delgado, who described some of the cast's outfit and how she meticulously approached the project during an interview with Soap Opera Digest.
