Episode 1 - Welcome to Top Model Prep 2/20/2008 Edit details 35 girls arrive at Top Model Prep where they meet with Jay Manuel and Miss J. Alexander. Tyra Banks surprises the girls by showing up as their prom queen. She narrows the field down to 13 finalists and makes one model change her name.

Episode 2 - New York City, Here We Come 2/27/2008 Edit details The final 14 models move into their chic NYC apartment. For their photo shoot, the girls pose as homeless women. At panel, Kimberly quits the competition right before being critiqued, saying that fashion doesn't appeal to her after all. Tyra decides to eliminate a model as well. Amis and Atalya are revealed to be in the bottom two, and Atalya is eliminated for not having a high fashion appeal and not giving a good enough range of expression.

Episode 3 - Top Model Makeovers 3/5/2008 Edit details The models receive makeovers. Tyra does not tell them face to face what makeovers they'll be getting, unlike all the past cycles. For the photo shoot, the girls pose on a boat for an Elle Macpherson line of lingerie. Allison and Dominique are revealed to be the bottom two this week, and Allison is sent home, much to her disappointment and shock.

Episode 4 - Where's the Beef? 3/12/2008 Edit details The girls receive a runway lesson from Miss J. and the New York City Fire Department. For their photo shoot, the girls are taken to the Meat Packing District. 20 minutes before panel, Amis is still sleeping and wakes up in time to throw on a sweatsuit and a headband. Amis and Fatima land in the bottom two - Amis for her lack of focus and Fatima for her lack of growth. Tyra ultimately decides to send Amis home.

Episode 5 - Top Model Takes It to the Streets 3/19/2008 Edit details The girls meet with posing expert Benny Ninja and supermodel Vendela Kirsebom for a posing competition. Claire was named the winner and received a trip to Bora Bora. For their photo shoot, the models did a beauty shot with paint on their faces for makeup. Marvita and Whitney landed in the bottom two for disappointing photos and a lack of passion for the competition. Tyra sent Marvita home, feeling she had "checked out".

Episode 6 - House of Pain 3/26/2008 Edit details The girls butt heads with Dominique, who shows no consideration for her roommates by letting her alarm clock go off for hours on end. Tyra teaches the girl how to pose while looking pained and deems Anya the winner. For their photo shoot, the models must embody a genre of music. Aimee and Claire land in the bottom two and Aimee is sent home, with the judges feeling that she didn't have what it takes to survive in the industry.

Whitney lands in the bottom two, for failing to deliver a genuine commercial. Lauren stands beside her, for her lack of charisma and passion. Tyra eliminates Lauren and sends her back to the United States.

Whitney wins a shopping spree and takes Anya along with her. Tyra shoots the girls for their photo challenge and they dress in modern Renaissance fashion. At panel, she eliminated Katarzyna, feeling that she was not living up to her full potential as a model and didn't have the personality to be successful.

The first challenge is to create an outfit which is simple yet fashionable from Old Navy in 10 minutes. Saleisha wins the prize of doing an ad for Old Navy. The photo shoot, meanwhile, was about the negative effects of smoking.

Episode 3 - The Girls Go Rock Climbing 10/3/2007 Edit details The girls proceed to Fashion Madhouse and get a lesson from J. Alexander on doing their runway walk while on a straightjacket. Saleisha wins anew with the couture runway challenge. She wins a trip to Paris for a fashion show. Meanwhile, for the phot shoot, the girls hang on a wall while wearing high-fashion gowns.

Episode 4 - The Girl Who Goes Bald 10/10/2007 Edit details All the girls get their makeovers, most notable of which was Bianca who was forced to shave her head bald. The challenge for the week involves the girls putting their own make up by CoverGirl cosmetics, with Janet winning. The photo shoot had them portraying different plants.

Episode 5 - The Girl Who Is Afraid of Heights 10/17/2007 Edit details The girls are taught to pose with expert Benny Ninja via jumping on a trampoline. For the reward challenge, the 10 girls have to pose in the air while being carried by ice-skaters in a rink. Lisa wins the challenge and a photo shoot for Seventeen Magazine. For the photo shoot, meanwhile, they have to pose as gargoyles atop a skyscraper.

Male supermodel Tyson Beckford visits the house and gives the girls a talk on being a spokesperson. Episode 9 - The Girls Go to Shanghai 11/21/2007 Edit details The six remaining girls fly to Shanghai, China, and in their suite, the girls quarrel over their beds. They are taught basic martial arts poses to help them with their challenge of posing in the air on high wires. Bianca disqualifies herself because she refuses to do the challenge. For the photo shoot, the girls are made to wear clothes that reveal their personalities.

One of them throws a tantrum and blames the taxi driver. At the photo shoot, the girls must pose in swimsuits with two different angles in mind, sensual poses for a women’s magazine, and sexy poses for a men’s magazine.

Episode 6 - The Girl Who Loves Bubbles and Talks to Plants 10/19/2005 Edit details The challenge for the week includes doing a commercial shoot, photo shoot, and a press interview in the span of 30 minutes. There are a lot of behind-the-scene drama, such as stealing of ideas and the like. In the end, the judges pick the girl with the best photo.

Episode 7 - The Girls Are 1940s Pin-Ups 10/26/2005 Edit details After getting some instructions on black and white photo shoot from Tyra herself, the girls go on a boot camp where they have to crawl in the mud and go straight to a go-see with Elle Girl. For the photo shoot, the girls shoot advertisements for Ford Fusion as pin-up girls.

Episode 8 - The Girl Whose Boyfriend Is Cheating on Her 11/9/2005 Edit details The final six contestants shoot a scene with Wildoyz, the spin off to Jackass. The girls do not blend well with the pubescent and immature nature of the boys from the TV show. Meanwhile, Tyra surprises everyone when she calls two girls during panel then brings out a picture of the Union Jack, while announcing that everyone is going to London.

Episode 9 - The Girl Who Talks Behind Everyones Back 11/16/2005 Edit details For the girls’ first challenge in the British capital, they have to pose in a London phone booth wearing only panties, galoshes, and a newspaper. Two contestants figure in a fight when one is caught talking behind the other’s back.

Episode 10 - The Girl Who Retaliates 11/23/2005 Edit details For the challenge, the girls pose as statues in a park, where one girl encounters some difficulties because of the pigeons around her. For the photo shoot, the girls portray modern interpretations of classical art pieces, such as the Mona Lisa, Whistler’s Mother, and the Vitruvian Man.

Episode 11 - The Girl Who Takes a Pill 11/30/2005 Edit details For this cycle’s go-sees, the remaining girls have to dress mod, Bollywood, preppy, and punk. After which, they divide into two groups to see the city. For the photo shoot of the four contestants, they stand out in front of the crowd with Bollywood-inspired costumes.

Episode 12 - The Girl on the Cover 12/7/2005 Edit details For the season finale, the final three shoot a CoverGirl commercial plus some stills. The weakest performer is eliminated with the final duo shoot a potential Elle Girl cover and take part in a runway competition which featured former winners Eva Pigford and Naima Mora.

Some girls make their mark, like someone who mentions that she has taken anger management classes, or she who is compared to Janice, and someone who underwent a dysfunctional childhood. In between the auditions, the girls play truth or dare, go to a club or bowling. Eventually, 14 girls are called.

Episode 2 - The Girls Who Hate Their Makeovers 3/9/2005 Edit details The 14 finalists are taken to a movie by Jay Manuel. There, they meet the judges, Nigel Barker, Janice Dickinson, and Nole Marin. They also do an impromptu fashion shoot called “Aliens in Manhattan.” After the shoot, they are taken to their house then eventually to a salon for
makeovers.

Episode 3 - The Girl Who Suddenly Collapsed 3/16/2005 Edit details The show opens with runway diva Miss J. Alexander giving the girls a lesson at a stadium, requiring them to walk up and down gradients while carrying different items. For the challenge, the girls are in K-Mart and need to pick an item and walk down the supermarket isle with the item. The theme for this week’s photo shoot is for 1-800-Flowers. One of the girls collapses during judging.

Episode 4 - The Girl with the Worst Photo in History 3/23/2005 Edit details The episode begins with a ballet lesson for the girls. They go to dinner and one of them had too much to drink and starts throwing up. For the challenge, they are taken to a tennis court and everyone has a hard time with the difficult director, without knowing that he is actually a director who’s testing the girls in terms of handling pressure. For the photo shoot, the girls portrayed the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Episode 5 - The Girl Who Is Contagious 3/30/2005 Edit details In a show all about makeup, the episode opens with Jay Manuel meeting the girls at an art studio. For the reward challenge, they have to apply makeup from different stations to have an haute couture effect with very limited time. For the photo shoot, the girls portray different ethnicities for a God Milk? ad.

Episode 6 - The Girl with the Deliciously Tacky Dance 4/6/2005 Edit details Tyra Banks herself gives the girls a talk on the serious side of modeling, its ins and outs as an industry, plus the business aspect of the whole thing. The girls are then invited to a party where they are given time to interact with guests and possibly land contacts. For the photo shoot, the girls are at an old gas stations and they are shot while being blasted with cold rain and strong winds.

Episode 7 - The Girl Who Pushes Tyra Over the Edge 4/13/2005 Edit details The girls are given some time to memorize a few lines which they will later run with a male model. The winner, who perfected the act, wins $10,000 worth of diamonds. For the photo shoot, the girls had to shoot a pillow fight scene in bed with a male model. A shocking turn of events stuns everyone during judging.

Episode 8 - The Girl Who Gets Bad News 4/20/2005 Edit details The girls are given a refresher course on conducting interviews featuring rapper Eve. Meanwhile, one of the girls receives a message that her best friend from high school passed away. To aggravate the situation more, the photo shoot will be set in a cemetery, with the girls depicting the seven deadly sins.

Episode 9 - The Girls the Lionesses Are Hunting 4/27/2005 Edit details The episodes open in an empty parking lot, featuring a challenge that had the girls act out their wild sides and pose as animals. It is also there when they are told that they are going to Cape Town, South Africa. Upon arrival, the girls go on a safari ride. For the photo shoot, the girls pose as animals with a crocodile.

Episode 10 - The Girl who Flops in the Mud 5/4/2005 Edit details The girls go on go-sees and, despite some comments about her weight, the cycle’s plus-sized model wins the challenge. For the photo shoot, the girls travel deep into the jungle and have to make their own outfit for the photo shoot to be done in front of a waterfall.

Episode 11 - The Girl Who Is Special 5/11/2005 Edit details For this week’s reward challenge, the girls learn a traditional South African dance and perform it in front of a live audience. The girls are then taken to Nelson Mandel’s jail cell, where one of the girls cries due to a supposed connection with the leader. This annoys most of the girls, however, as it was revealed that she does not know anything about Mandela at all. For the photo shoot, the girls pose with male models.

Episode 12 - What the Girls Did That You've Never Seen Before 5/17/2005 Edit details The recap episode of the cycle features never-before-seen footage, including the “passionate” moments among Christina, Naima and Kahlen, plus the visits of Christina and Brittany’s moms.

Episode 13 - The Girl Who Walks on Water 5/18/2005 Edit details The final three are given instructions by Jay Manuel on how to shoot the commercial and print ad for CoverGirl. Because of her walk, Naima instantly gets picked for the top two. For final runway show, Miss J meets with the girls in a runway that is partially underwater. It is revealed that they are going to need to stomp their walk through the runway. One of the girls is selected as America’s Next Top Model.

Episode 1 - The Girl with the Secret 9/22/2004 Edit details The 34 semifinalists meet in Los Angeles and have a pool party to celebrate making it to California. Deciding to have a bit more fun, some of the girls trek out to a local hot spot where semifinalist Tiffany Richardson gets into a bar fight with a local. Tiffany got cut when cutting down to 20 girls. Tiffany successfully re-auditioned for Cycle 4.

Later on, the girls have one-on-one introductions to the judges and a cut is announced where 14 out of the 34 girls are eliminated, leaving a final 20. A second cut soon after eliminates 6 more girls and the final 14 are revealed.

Despite receiving rave reviews from the judges about her eyes, Amanda reveals that she has retinitis pigmentosa, an eye disease which makes her legally blind. She will be about 30 when she's completely blind.

This episode is named for Amanda; after she announced her blindness of retinitis pigmentosa.

Episode 2 - The Girl Who Is Co-Dependent 9/29/2004 Edit details The 14 girls are flown to Montego Bay in Jamaica for their very first photo shoot. Here, Jay Manuel reveals that there is room for only 13 girls in the New York apartment. The next day, one of the girls is eliminated when her name shows up in the envelope. The 13 remaining girls return to Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York.

Episode 3 - The Girl Who Everyone Thinks Is a Backstabber 10/6/2004 Edit details The girls are given makeovers, some more drastic than others. For the photo shoot, the girls take on a beauty shot for Nivea without any makeup whatsoever. One girl shows promise as her unretouched photo shows no difference from her retouched one. One of the girls is reportedly suffering from an eating disorder.

Episode 4 - The Girl Who Sets a Trap 10/13/2004 Edit details The episode opens with a runway lesson from Miss J. The next day, it is revealed that the girls are to participate in a fashion show for a clothing line. Back in the house, a girl finds her crystals missing, igniting a fight among some of the girls. For the photo shoot, the girls do a group shot. For panel, the girls have to walk in heels two sizes small while wearing little pink dresses.

Episode 5 - The Girl Who Cries When She Looks in the Mirror 10/20/2004 Edit details Janice Dickinson herself gives the girls a lesson on posing. For the challenge, they need to pose as mannequins in lingerie at La Perla’s store window. For the photo shoot, meanwhile, the girls pose on roller skates to advertise a line of purses.

Episode 6 - The Girl Who Mutilated the Precious Brownies 10/27/2004 Edit details A fight ensues in the house when one of the girls, tired at seeing someone’s dirty dishes lying around the house, wrote “Clean Your Sh*t” in the latter’s low-carb brownies. For the challenge, the girls climb up 14 flights of stairs and do a photo shoot. For the photo shoot, the girls try to conquer the trampoline while posing.

Episode 7 - The Girl Who Forgot Her Shoes 11/3/2004 Edit details One of the girls reveals that she does suffer from bulimia. Unfortunately, the secret reaches Tyra who decides to offer her counseling but was rebuffed. For the challenge, the girls are to go on go-sees with all of the designers. For the photo shoot, they do a campaign for Ford Mustang automobiles.

Episode 8 - The Girl Who Is Panic Stricken 11/10/2004 Edit details Tyra talks to Cassie’s mother about the condition of her child. Meanwhile, the girls are given advice from stylist Rebecca Weinberg. For the challenge, the girls are dropped off in a department store where they had to find something to wear. Little do they know that an impromptu red carpet would follow. For the photo shoot, the girls have to touch a live tarantula.

Episode 9 - The Girls Meet Taye Diggs 11/17/2004 Edit details The episode opens with an acting lesson from Taye Diggs. Tyra proceeds to announce that the girls are flying to Tokyo for the remainder of the season. In lieu of a photo shoot, the girls take on a Campbell commercial in Japanese.
