Tracie Thoms was born on August 19, 1975 in Baltimore, Maryland. As a child, she aspired to be an actress and eventually, took acting courses during her school days. She acquired a degree in Howard University and Julliard School. She appeared in several shows like Wonderfalls, The Shield and Law & Order. She even did Broadway shows like Rent, and off-Broadway shows such as The Oedipus Plays, The Exonerated and The Antigone Project just to name a few. She is presently part of the television series Cold case where she plays Detective Kat Miller.
Detective Kat Miller is the newbie on the Philadelphia homicide squad. As a new recruit, she is very eager to prove her worth.
