A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Tim Nichols is an American actor and producer. Initially bent towards gymnastics, an injury during his teens forced him to reconsider, thus aligning him towards acting. He first studied comedy at the Star Theatre in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1998, and went on to perform with local comedy troupe OxyMoron’Z, as well as on several television commercials. He also helped found the theater group Theater 168 and the comedy troupe Jester’Z. During the time, he played small roles in two films: 1999’s How to Become Famous, and 2002’s Whiplash.
Nichols then pursued further training at The Second City and Improv Olympic in Chicago. Upon his return to Arizona, he met with filmmaker Sam Greene, with whom he would later collaborate with for the production of the Comedy Central improv series American Body Shop. There, he played the role of color expert Tim, who looks lazy and slobbish, but is very street smart. He also produced and wrote for the show.
