Thomas Gibson was born on July 3, 1962 in Charleston, South Carolina. Before that he played he played the role of Dr. Danny Nyland in "Chicago Hope", along with Mandy Patinkin as Dr. Geiger. There he was from 1994 till 1997. Right after that he got the role in "Dharma & Greg". He is best known for his portrayal of Greg in the comedy series Dharma & Greg. Aside from this, he appeared in countless movies such as Men of War, Sleep With Me, Another World, Far and Away and The Age of Innocence. He is presently part of the television series Criminal Minds where he plays Aaron Hotchner.

Aaron Hotchner is currently the head of the BAU team. His character's plot revolves around balancing his family life and career. Previously, he was a lawyer and at one point, was even assigned to the SWAT.
