'Guiding Light' Actor Heads to 'The Young and the Restless'

July 1, 2009

CBS has now confirmed that former Guiding Light star John Driscoll has signed on to join the cast of The Young and the Restless and will be arriving in Genoa City on July 16.

Rumors about Driscoll joining The Young and the Restless have been swirling for several weeks now though CBS has been tight-lipped about the casting news. At the time, however, it has already been reported that Driscoll will be appearing as Phillip "Chance" Chancellor IV, Nina's (Tricia Cast) son.

The Young and the Restless: Three Men and a Baby

June 9, 2009

Sharon Newman is currently one of the core characters of The Young and the Restless. She's been a very busy woman these days ---she has a baby on the way though it is unknown whether the father of her baby is ex-husband Nicholas Newman, present husband Jack Abbott, or Jack's brother Billy Abbott.

According to Sharon's portrayer, Sharon Case, who won a Daytime Emmy for her Young and the Restless role in 1999, Jack being the father of her baby seems like the most sensible assumption. After all, Jack is still Sharon's husband and has already made a magnanimous offer to raise her unborn baby.

The Young and the Restless: Chris Engen Breaks His Silence Over Adam Recast

May 27, 2009

As BuddyTV reported earlier this month, a new Adam will be wreaking havoc in Genoa City. The Young and the Restless has recast Chris Engen with Michael Muhney, a seasoned actor who is credited for his roles on Veronica Mars and The Huntress. It's an unexpected move that has left fans of the long-running soap somewhat divided especially since the recast doesn't revolve around money. Evidently, the Engen is unhappy with the "dark direction" his character is headed for and has reportedly walked off the set during filming.

Engen has been called all sorts of names and the buzz surrounding the recast has been blown into proportions. In an effort to clarify the issue, the Young and the Restless actor has decided to break his silence on his MySpace blog.

The Young and the Restless: Chris Engen Storms Off Set, Replaced by Michael Muhney

May 21, 2009

Another actor on the long-running daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless has reportedly walked off the set during filming.  The issue doesn't revolve around money though, because this time it's about sex.  Chris Engen, who plays the "straight" Adam Newman on the show, refused to kiss co-star Yani Gellman in a scene.  Gellman plays the only out gay character on the show, Rafe Torres.

Since Engen was unhappy with the "dark direction" that his character is headed for, he stormed away while working on the show.  He was far from pleased about the recent developments that Adam has undergone, particularly kissing another man.  He may still be under contract with the soap, but they've already found a replacement for him: Veronica Mars' Michael Muhney.
