After such a classic episode as last week‘s "Andy‘s Play," it‘s perfectly understandable that this week‘s installment of The Office was just OK. The premise seemed golden; Michael reunites with all his former lovers to figure out who gave him herpes. (I‘m laughing just typing that synopsis.) But the direction the episode took wasn‘t conventional and ended up being a more interesting introspection of Michael Scott. I know that awkward moments are what The Office does best but seeing Michael embarrass himself in front of all his former lovers was almost too hard to watch. The episode tricked us into thinking that Michael confronting all his exes would be funny. The result wasn‘t funny but rather sad. Watching Michael come to the realization that he has either screwed up or over romanticized all past relationships left me feeling really bad for the guy. But he shouldn‘t feel too bad about Jan, she really turned out to be quite a mess.
