Child actress Taylor Momsen was born on July 26, 1993 in St. Louis, Missouri. She started acting professionally at age 3, appearing in a national television commercial. It was only in 1999, though, when she first appeared on film, when she got a small role in The Prophet’s Game. The following year, she got her big break in film, playing the lead role, Cindy Lou Who, in the Oscar-winning film How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This was followed by other films: We Were Soldiers, the lead in Hansel & Gretel, and a supporting role in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams.
Momsen’s career came to a halt after these appearances, and it was only in 2006 when she returned to screens. She starred in the sitcom Misconceptions, which also features Jane Leeves and French Stewart; however, it was cancelled before any episode was ever aired. After other film appearances—Saving Shiloh, Paranoid Park and Underdog—she got a role in the successful teen series Gossip Girl. She plays the role of Jenny Humphrey, the younger sister of Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), who desperately tries to become part of the it crowd until the affair between Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) was revealed.
