Born in April 9, 1981 in Kelowna, British Colombia, Canadian-born actor and model Taylor Kitsch grew up in Vancouver. As a child, he aspired to become an actor. Eventually, he moved to New York in 2002 to pursue his dreams by studying with acting coach Sheila Grey. He then received the opportunity to model with IMG, and signed up with the production company Untitled Entertainment after two years. While in New York, he also became known as a certified nutritionist and personal trainer. His modeling work allowed him to appear on ads for Diesel and Abercrombie & Fitch.
In 2006, Taylor Kitsch was given the role of Colm on the series Godiva’s. He followed this up with a small role in the drama series Kyle XY, starring Matt Dallas. Kitsch was next seen playing the character Justin on John Tucker Must Die, a high school comedy film starring Jesse Metcalfe and Brittany Snow. The film grossed $41 million domestically, and ranked third on U.S. box office results on its opening weekend. Taylor Kitsch then landed a role on the thriller Snakes on a Plane, alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Julianna Margulies and Nathan Phillips. Kitsch was next seen as the character Pogue Parry in the horror The Covenant.
Kitsch was able to work with actors like Steven Strait, Chance Crawford, Sebastian Stan, Toby Hemingway, Jessica Lucas, and Laura Ramsey for the film. Kitsch is also a regular cast member of the television series Friday Night Lights. He plays Tim Riggins, the gloomy but alcoholic fullback of the Dillon Panthers and the best friend of Jason Street played by Scott Porter. The character also has an on and off girlfriend named Tyra, portrayed by Adrianne Palicki. Kitsch continued his acting career, eventually landing a role in 2008’s Gospel Hill. He was cast to play Gambit in the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics character.
