British actress Tara Summers was born on May 10, 1979 in London, England. She graduated with a history degree from Brown University, and later trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and the National Theater Institute. She made her film debut in 2003, playing a minor role in the Amanda Bynes-starrer What a Girl Wants. Most of her initial roles were in films, such as The Jacket, Alfie, Fooling Hitler and Factory Girl. At the same time, she was also active in the London theater scene, at one point staging her own one-woman performance, Gypsy of Chelsea.
Summers’ first regular television role was in the United States; she played a recurring role in the drama series Dirt, which starred Courteney Cox. This was followed by a regular role in the legal drama Boston Legal, where she played new junior associate Katie Lloyd. As part of the cast, she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Drama Ensemble in 2008.
