Twenty-four-year-old acting student Silvia Tovar was born and raised in Colombia, and then relocated to New York at the age of 18. In 2002, she participated in The School for Film and Television Two-Year Conservatory Program. She graduated with a BFA in Performing Arts from Adelphi University in 2006.
Silvia Tovar’s theater credits include Coser y Cantar, Comical One Acts, How Alfo Learned to Love Women, Our Lady of 121st Street and Sex, Relationships and Sometimes Love.
On the big screen, Silvia played roles in Pepe’s American Film, From One Day to the Next, Killing of a Filmmaker and I Have a Wish.
Silvia Tovar is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also talented in dancing salsa and yoga. She spends her free time playing basketball or running. She is also interested in yoga.
Silvia is certified in both armed and unarmed stage combat.
Silvia Tovar is one of the 12 contestants on VH1’s reality TV talent search Viva Hollywood, a competition that brings together aspiring Latino actors and pits them against each other in challenges that will help them prove that they are “America’s Numero Uno Telenovela Star.” The aspirants are flown in to Los Angles and they live together in one house. The winner gets a Hollywood prize package which includes a contract with Telemundo, U.S.’ biggest telenovela production company.
