Shiri Appleby was born December 7, 1978 in Los Angeles, California and has been acting since the tender age of four. Among her earliest exposures were commercials for Cheerios, Taco Bell and M&Ms. Her first television role was for the soap, Santa Barbara, followed by appearances on thirtysomething and Doogie Howser, M.D. She took a brief sabbatical from acting to focus on her high school experience, which included cheerleading as well as participating in the student council and the yearbook committee. She had just started college at the University of Southern California, where she was taking up English literature, when she landed her most prominent role to date, as Liz Parker on the sci-fi hit series, Roswell.
Liz Parker, played by Shiri Appleby on Roswell, is a caring and noble teenager, who fell for the humanoid alien, Max, after he saved her life in a freak shootout at the diner where she works. Although she is certain that she and Max are destined for each other, she is forced to sacrifice her love to save the world from certain doom.
