Sometimes a television show fails so spectacularly that it gets canceled after just one airing. This shameful group contains such forgettable embarrassments as Quarterlife, Emily's Reasons Why Not, Anchorwoman, and The Will. We can now add one more series to this list, as CBS has announced that they're yanking Secret Talents of the Stars from the air after one broadcast. The show aired Tuesday night at 10pm in Jericho's old time slot, but it didn't prove to be a successful replacement for the post-apocalyptic drama. The reality competition pulled in only 4.6 million viewers, forcing CBS to send it to the scrap heap.

"We will boldly go where we've never gone before," were the words of several generations of TV captains on the various incarnations of Gene Roddenberry's cult Star Trek. Actually, they come from the mouth of the original series' former Mr. Sulu himself, George Takei.
"If I survive this, who knows what doors could open," the former Trek hero told the New York Daily News about his stint on the new reality competition, Secret Talents of the Stars, which premieres tonight.

Any true Star Trek fan knows George Takei as Sulu from the original sci-fi series from Gene Roddenberry. Country music followers have little doubt that Clint Black is one of their Grand Ole Opry gods. Die-hard Olympic viewers know that Sasha Cohen is the quintessential ice princess. But what if they left their day jobs and tried to be something else? That's exactly the premise of an upcoming reality competition aptly called Secret Talents of the Stars.
Yes, CBS, the same network that delivers Big Brother, Survivor and The Amazing Race in all their zany, unpredictable, surreal, fiercely competitive and outrageous glory is bringing Secret Talents of the Stars to our TVs beginning Tuesday, April 8.
