Seann William Scott is an American actor known for his role as Steve Stifler in the American Pie film series.
The youngest of seven children, Scott was born on October 3, 1976, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. After graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles, where he joined and won in a talent search competition. His first screen appearance was in the music video for the Aerosmith song “Hole in My Soul.”
In 1999, Seann William Scott appeared in his first film, American Pie. He played Steve Stifler, one who has a hatred for women. He reprised the role in the other two American Pie movies: American Pie 2, released in 2001, and American Wedding, released in 2003. He pursued other roles after the series, fearing that he will be typecast to his role as the so-called “Stiffmeister.” He appeared in other comedy films, such as Dude, Where’s My Car? with Ashton Kutcher; and Road Trip, with Breckin Mayer and Tom Green, both released in 2000. He also appeared in the first Final Destination movie, along with Devon Sawa and Ali Larter, released in the same year.
In 2003, he performed in the film The Rundown, with Dwayne Johnson. 2005, he appeared in the adaptation of the television show The Dukes of Hazzard, opposite Johnny Knoxville and Jessica Simpson. In 2007, he reunited with Dwayne Johnson in the dark comedy film Southland Tales, which also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Justin Timberlake. He has also provided his voice in the computer animation Ice Age: The Meltdown, as Crash, one of the possums that befriend Ellie (Queen Latifah).
Seann William Scott is set to appear in the film Ball’s Out: The Gary Houseman Story, starring Randy Quaid; Role Models, starring Paul Rudd; and Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
