Samantha Jamie Bee is a Canadian actress and comedienne who was born on 1969 in Toronto, Ontario. She would eventually go on to pursue higher learning and receive a degree from the University of Ottawa, as well as studying science at McGill University in Montreal. Bee also received training as a student of the George Brown Theatre School located in Toronto. She was also a founding member of The Atomic Fireballs, a sketch comedy troupe that she performed regularly with in Toronto, before eventually being hired by Comedy Central’s seminal television series The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 2003.
For her work on The Daily Show, Bee is featured as a correspondent on segments such as “This Week in God,” “Mark Your Calendar,” and “Are You Prepared?!?”. She is also adept at getting people to caricature themselves, as shown in other segments such as “Kill Drill,” “They So Horny,” and “Tropical Repression.” Aside from her work on the show, she played the titular character for a live-action production of Sailor Moon during the Canadian National Exhibition, and co-starred in the independent film Ham and Cheese. She is married to her fellow Daily Show correspondent, Jason Jones, and gave birth to their daughter Piper in 2006.
