Born October 20, 1977 in Glenview, Illinois, Sam Witwear is an actor whose majority of work was on television. Witwear was also raised in Glenview, Illinois, just outside Chicago. He went to Glenbrook South High School. During high school, he was heavily involved in drama and theater classes perhaps telling of his future career in show business. He was also the lead singer of a high school band. After high school, he went on to attend the prestigious Juilliard School of Drama.
Sam Witwear appeared on the 2007 horror film called The Mist, based on the 1980 novel by Stephen King. He appeared alongside an ensemble cast that included Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Laurie Holden, Toby Jones, and Andre Braugher. He also starred as Crashdown on the futuristic television series Battlestar Galactica and as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice Starkiller in the multimedia project called Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. He also released a CD called Colorful of the Stereo.
Witwear is likewise part of the CW series Smallville cast as David Bloome, also known as Doomsday. The character is based on the Superman comics and is very much significant in the series as he is known as the only villain to have killed Superman. On Smallville, Davis Bloome is a charming paramedic.
Witwear’s other credentials include the voice credit for video game Soulcalibur IV, plus a host of guest appearances on numerous television series, such as on the legal drama series Shark, the CBS procedural CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, the comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, procedural Bones, comedy Monk, procedural NCIS, drama Dexter, action Dark Angel, and the medical drama ER.
