Ryan Hansen was born on July 5, 1981 in San Diego, California. Initially, he appeared in the show Grounded for Life, Las Vegas and That's So Raven. Later, he auditioned for the role of Duncan Kane in the television series Veronica Mars but landed the role of Dick Casablancas instead.

Dick Casablancas is the son of Richard Casablancas, Sr. and Betina Casablancas. He is the brother of the deceased Cassidy Casablancas. Apart from being the son of Neptune's wealthiest man, he is often involved in felonious acts. He currently attends Hearst College and has become a member of the Pi Sigma fraternity.
