On Rules of Engagement, David Spade plays single pal to a long-married couple, played by Patrick Warburton and Megyn Price, and engaged sweethearts, Oliver Hudson and Bianca Kajlich. But while Warburton, Price, Hudson and Kajlich are all married in real life, Spade remains to be their still single friend off camera.
According to show executive producer Tom Hertz, Spade and his character, Russell, are both aware that they are not successful at committing to a monogamous and long-term relationship.

Expect more laughs as Rules of Engagement taps onto the coming episodes. Fans can look forward to a more complex dating scene and side-splitting view of marriage when Jeff and Audrey attempt to spice up their sex lives in the fifth episode of the season entitled “Bag Ladies,” which airs on October 22.

While some actors admit that they are nothing like the roles they portray onscreen, Bianca Kajlich acknowledges that her character, Jennifer, on the comedy series Rules of Engagement, is pretty much the gist of what she's like in real life.
On Rules of Engagement, Kajlich stars alongside Oliver Hudson (Adam) as newly engaged sweethearts. They explore the different and often confusing stages of a relationship along with a long-time married pair, Jeff (Patrick Warburton) and Audrey (Megyn Price), and a single guy on the prowl, Russell (David Spade).

Season 2 of CBS' Rules of Engagement premieres tonight at 9:30. The gang of five is back, led by the irreverent David Spade as the lone single player in the mix.
What new adventures and misadventures will the five friends find themselves into? Tune in to the CBS Monday block which includes the returning How I Met Your Mother at 8pm, debuting Big Bang Theory at 8:30pm, Two and a Half Men at 9pm, Rules of Engagement at 9:30pm and finally, CSI: Miami at 10pm.

Patrick Warburton has another upcoming project besides his regular television gig on NBC's Rules of Engagement. On May 2, 2008, he'll be lending his voice in the computer-animated film entitled Space Chimps.
In Space Chimps, Warburton joins Andy Samberg (Saturday Night Live), Stanley Tucci (Murder One, 3Lbs.), Jeff Daniels (Cheaters) and Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm). Directed by Kirk De Micco, the adventure comedy movie follows a chimp named Ham III, the grandson of the first champion astronaut, as he gets blasted off into space by an opportunity-seeking senator. Eventually, the high-spirited chimp, along with his peers, embarks on a serious mission to save the inhabitants of an uncharted planet from a tyrannical leader.
