Canadian actor Roger Cross was born on October 19, 1966 in Christiana, Jamaica. When he was eleven, he moved with his family to Burnaby in British Columbia, where he eventually graduated with an aviation degree from the Trinity Western University. While waiting for a chance to work as a pilot, he decided to take advantage of his training in martial arts, and entered the film industry, initially taking stunt jobs on film sets. He then shifted his focus to full-time acting, taking acting lessons at the Breck Academy in Vancouver.
After appearing in The International Rescue, Cross went on to take a steady drip-feed of roles in both television and film. His films include Look Who’s Talking Now, Suspicious Agenda, Hideaway, Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain, American Dragons and Deadly Little Secrets. He also has appeared in many television shows, the first being a guest role in Wiseguy. He would go on to star in shows such as Madison, The Commish, Hawkeye, Sliders, Highlander, The X Files, Stargate SG-1, Higher Ground, 2gether: The Series and The Outer Limits.
Cross got his first regular television role in 1998, when he starred in the science fiction series First Wave. He plays Joshua, part of an alien race called Gua who works with Cade (Sebastian Spence) and “Crazy” Eddie (Rob LaBelle) in preventing his race from invading Earth. Despite being picked up for a 66-episode contract, the show was cancelled due to disappointing ratings.
Cross’ more recent films have a futuristic, science fiction feel: these include Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever, X2 and The Chronicles of Riddick. He also starred in other, considerably more realistic films such as Liberty Stands Still, King’s Ransom and World Trade Center. After guest roles in television series like Taken, Enterprise, JAG and The 4400, he signed on for a recurring role on 24, as an officer of the CTU in Los Angeles. He became a regular cast member, but was later returned to recurring character status, and was eventually killed off. He has recently appeared in guest roles in Bionic Woman and NCIS.
