Robot Chicken

Summary

Robot Chicken is a sketch program that parodies pop culture conventions, particularly television shows and motion pictures. It makes use of stop motion animation and utilizes toys, dolls, claymation and action figures. It stars a Frankenstein-like chicken that has been reincarnated as a cyborg, very much in Star Trek Borg fashion, after getting run over by an automobile. His maker is mad scientist Fritz Huhnmorder (from the German word Hühnermörder meaning chicken murderer) who tortures and torments Robot Chicken by forcing it to watch television shows. Robot Chicken is a part of Cartoon Network's Ault Swim line-up.

Seth Green Talks 'Robot Chicken'

October 31, 2007

Seth Green, co-creator of Robot Chicken Multi-talented actor Seth Green knows for certain that his brainchild, Robot Chicken, has come a long way from when it first premiered on The Cartoon Network in 2005.  Now, Green said, he no longer has to explain what the show is all about nor go into details of stop-motion animation.  Better yet, they are having a much easier time getting other people to participate in the show.

“There was a point where we were trying to get Harrison Ford on the show, and we went to his manager, who had no idea that there was a Cartoon Network, let alone an Adult Swim.  It's an uphill climb trying to explain this show to someone who has no idea what it is, and that's what we dealt with in the first season,” Green told the A.V. Club last month.  “But after that, people started hearing about it and seeing it, and we had kind of a place in pop culture.  Now when we approach people, they're at least aware of it.”

'Robot Chicken' Co-Creator Joins the Cast of New Comedy Film

July 22, 2007

Robot Chicken co-creator Seth GreenRobot Chicken co-creator Seth Green has joined the cast of the film, Old Dogs, a high concept comedy featuring Oscar winner Robin Williams and Golden-Globe Award winner John Travolta.  Williams and Travolta will play a pair of best friends and business partners whose lives take a sharp turn when tasked to take care of 7-year-old twins.

As for Green, the Hollywood Reporter said that the 33-year-old actor is set to appear in the film as an executive at the marketing firm run by Travolta and Williams’ characters.  As the company finalizes a big deal with a Japanese conglomerate, Green’s character is keen to relocate to Tokyo and show off his Harvard-polished business skills and appreciation of Japanese culture.
