American actor Rob Estes was born on July 22, 1963 in Norfolk, Virginia. A graduate of the University of Southern California, he began his career in the mid-1980s, making his first notable appearance in the daytime soap Days of our Lives. After appearing in several films and television movies, he snagged his first regular prime time role, starring as detective Christopher Lorenzo in the crime drama Silk Stalkings. He was part of the series throughout its entire run, from 1991 to 1995.
Estes became more popular among viewers when he joined the drama series Melrose Place. He was one of the new characters introduced in the rejuvenated fifth season, in 1996; he played restaurateur Kyle McBride, and played the role until the series ended its run in 1999. He then became a regular in the comedy series Suddenly Susan, as freelance photographer Oliver Browne; he was one of the new characters introduced in the show’s fourth season after cast members Judd Nelson and Andrea Bendewald left, and David Strickland committed suicide. He also had a recurring role in the drama series Providence.
Estes took a break from regular television until 2006, when he starred in the short-lived crime series The Evidence. He played one of the leads, police inspector Sean Cole, who investigates crimes that they encounter. Because of low ratings, the initial eight-episoden run proved to be its last. The following year, he joined a more successful legal drama, Women’s Murder Club; there he played the role of Tom Hogan, the ex-husband and boss of lead Lindsay Boxer (Angie Harmon). His most recent television role was in the drama series 90210. He took on the role of Harrison Wilson, the father of Annie (Shenae Grimes), adoptive father of Dixon (Tristan Wilds), and son of faded actress Tabitha (Jessica Walter).
