English actress Rebecca Mader was born in Coldham’s Lane, Cambridge in 1979. She has appeared on several American television series, and has even worked as a model. While in New York, she appeared in advertisements for L’Oreal, Colgate, and Wella hair.
For about a dozen episodes, Rebecca Mader portrayed the character Morgan Gordon on the soap opera All My Children. She was initially offered a contract role, but she turned it down for a short term appearance as her character. Mader’s career was marked with performances on numerous shows. In 2000, she was cast on an episode of Madigan Men, and was later seen on Third Watch and Fastlane. After work on the video movie Mimic: Sentinel, she landed the part of Belinda Brown on Replay. Her next venture was the series The Guiding Light, and she was next seen as Aunt Cornelia on the made-for-TV movie Samantha: An American Girl Holiday. This was followed by a role in the long-running soap opera One Life to Live in 2004. The next year, Mader received an uncredited role in the romantic comedy Hitch, starring Will Smith and Eva Mendes. Mader soon appeared on Law & Order: Trial by Jury, and had a small role in the Stella episode “Meeting Girls.” She soon starred in the first few episodes of Starved, before playing Hannah in the series Conviction. In 2006, she joined the cast of the Fox series Justice, landing the regular role of Alden Tuller. During that time, she accepted parts in three episodes of Love Monkey, before she played Jocelyn on The Devil Wears Prada. This enabled her to work alongside Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. In 2007, Mader got a part in the TV adaptation of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, then played Pam in The Great World of Sound. She was next seen on the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off, Private Practice. Mader then became known as the anthropologist Charlotte Lewis on the ABC series Lost, and was seen as Mrs. Murray in 2008’s The Rainbow Tribe.
