gauntlet IIIAfter putting the Veterans against the Rookies in crazy competitions like digging up teammates from their buried coffins or running across a beam high above water while the opposite team tries to knock them off with 25-pound medicine balls, the Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet III has finally crowned its winning team.  In last week's final challenge, the Rookies emerged as the winner, receiving a check for $300,000, which is split into six equal shares among its remaining members, consisting of Frank Roessler, Jillian Zoboroski, Johanna Botta, Nehemiah Clark, Rachel Moyal, and Tori Hall.

gauntletThe Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet III will be wrapping up the season tonight at 10pm on MTV.  After a series of team challenges and elimination rounds that put the Veterans against the Rookies, the competition reaches its pinnacle with the 16th and final challenge.

For those who are not familiar, The Gauntlet III is a competitive reality series that takes place in Nayarit, Mexico.  It features the Veterans, players who had been on Real World/Road Rules Challenge at least two prior seasons, and the Rookies, players who had been on fewer than two seasons prior to The Gauntlet III, as they compete for minor prizes and in the final challenge, the grand prize of $300,000, which is split among the remaining members of the winning team.

evanNowadays, many viewers consider reality shows to be full of scripted drama, especially with shows like The Hills, which has been rumored as fake.  While many speculate that The Hills stretches reality a little more than the show should with all the re-shooting that's been fueling controversy, there's another reality series that claims to be genuinely non-scripted.

Danny JamiesonReal World/Road Rules Challenge: Gauntlet III star, Danny Jamieson, a veteran of two other Real World editions, was among a trio of MTV reality stars who came to Hawkeye to help promote the village's fall renewal leasing special last month.  Jamieson was joined by Matt McCoy from True Life and Rashawn “Bam Bam” Davis from Rob & Big.

The three reality stars spent a day at Hawkeye Community College's Tama Hall to meet with fans, sign some autographs and share their experiences on reality television.
