Rachael Lawrence is an American actress and composer who was born in San Diego, California. She majored in Theatre at USC, and achieved the feat of becoming the first undergraduate musical director of a main-stage musical for the university. She was also given the Ruth Albert McKinnley Award for her creative accomplishments and contributions to the school. Upon graduating, she joined several fellow alumni and worked at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, as well as performing together with Broadway stars at the Hollywood Bowl. She is also a certified singing instructor, and has helped train numerous professional performers in southern California. She has also written music for children’s shows, and continues to do sketch comedy.
Rachel Lawrence became known as the character Vicki on the VH! Television comedy series, I Hate My 30s. Her character enabled her to portray someone who works as a receptionist at the office and has dreams of becoming a rock star. She is also infamous for her track record of being late for work, as well as her fondness for gloating about her young age (21). She also tries to fulfill her ambitions for a musical career by entering a singing contest at one point. Lawrence had to portray someone who was in a band, and her training enabled her to accomplish this. On the show, she sings two songs with Vicki’s bandmates, which are titled “the carol of carol's career” and “I want the 411 on stickbone12”.
Lawrence was also seen on the short comedy film J.A.P.S. Aside from acting on the production, she also served as writer and producer for it. She worked with her friends at the sketch comedy troupe Drama 3/4 in order to come up with J.A.P.S. With Deborah Ellen, she later launched Perfectune Productions, a company providing original songs for special occasions.
