With close to 20 years of hairstyling experience under his belt, Paulo’s specialty is new ways of creating modern and edgy looks that stand out in the crowd. He was personally trained by Irvine and Louise Rusk, the proponents of the Rusk Cutting Method. He even traveled the world with Rusk holding classes on methods of cutting and coloring.

At the age of 24, Paulo opened his first salon called OMO24 in Los Gatos, California. Much more recently, he opened an edgy New York loft style salon called Ego Mechanix in historic San Jose. There, he trains his staff and organizes courses for other stylists who would like to learn his way of styling.

Paulo is one of the contestants in Bravo TV’s Shear Genius. This second season of the reality show features 12 gifted hairstylists from all over the country who vie for the ultimate title of ”Shear Genius.” It also looks at what happens behind the scenes of competitive high-end hair styling.
