American actress Pauley Perette was born on March 27, 1969 in New Orleans. She moved frequently with her family as a child, living all over the United States. She has been in Georgia, Alabama, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, New York, New Jersey and Los Angeles. Perette graduated from college with Honours - receiving her Master's Degree in Criminology. She also studied Sociology and Psychology.
Later, she worked for years on television, and mostly did commercials, voice-overs and music videos. She tended bar in New York City and was discovered, later being cast to play the gothic technogeek Forensic specialist Abby Sciuto on the series NCIS.
Pauley Perette began her career by appearing on several episodes of Murder One, from 1996 to 1997. She was later seen on the series Early Edition, before landing the role of a waitress in season 4 of Frasier. She later worked on several short independent films, some of them being The Price of Kissing, Hand on the Pump, and Hoofboy. She was later seen on The Drew Carey Show and Jesse, and became even more known for playing Alice Wisdom on the feature film Almost Famous. She also worked with Tom Arnold on the horror film Civility. She was then cast in the series Time of Your Life, and has been seen on episodes of Philly, Dawson’s Creek, Special Unit 2 and 24. After portraying the character Beth on the English version of The Ring, Perette appeared on the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and JAG. She later voiced a character on the animated feature Brother Bear, and was seen on Potheads: The Movie in 2005. Perette is also a published poet, writer, photographer and spoken-word artist. The music lover is a passionate advocate of civil rights, as well as the lead vocalist of the all-female band Lo-Ball.
