American actor Patrick Flueger was born on December 10, 1983 in Red Wing, Minnesota. A student of the Red Wing High School, he received his big break in 2001, when he auditioned for the film adaptation of the novel The Princess Diaries. He got the supporting role of Jeremiah Hart. The film became a success, and Flueger was given different roles in television.
Flueger started appearing in guest roles on television, starring in shows such as Septuplets, Judging Amy, Boston Public, The Pitts, CSI: Miami, Grounded for Life, JAG, It’s All Relative and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He also starred in television movies such as Twelve Mile Road and Paradise; he played supporting roles in both cases.
Flueger’s first major television role came in 2004, when he joined the cast of the hit science fiction series The 4400. He plays Shawn Ferrell, one of those abducted with the 4400, although he was not intended to be abducted. Instead, his cousin Kyle (Chad Faust) was supposed to be abducted, but when he tries to help, he gets taken instead. He has since acquired the ability of biological manipulation, and can help and change a person’s physical and genetic make-up.
-I'm a huge science fiction fan. Star Wars just came and you don't know how hard I tried to get back home and see that movie with my little brother.
-Shawn is like a best friend of mine. He's like a really, really good friend of mine. It's not me. It's definitely a person outside of me. When I talk about Shawn I talk about him in the third person and that's kind of how I relate to him. He's this person that I really, really just care about and I want to tell his story as best that I can and the stories of the people surrounding him. That's really the best way that I can explain it.
