American actress Paige Turco was born on May 17, 1965 in Springfield, Massachusetts. During her stay at the Walnut High School in the town of Natick, she danced for the New England Dance Conservatory, the Amherst Ballet Theatre Company and the Western Massachusetts Ballet Company. At age 14, she was forced to turn to acting after suffering an ankle injury. She eventually took up drama at the University of Connecticut.
She made her television debut in 1987, when she joined the cast of the daytime soap Guiding Light as Dinah Marler. She left in 1989, only to join another daytime soap, All My Children, as Melanie Cortlandt. She left in 1991, and made her name in the action film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, where she played the role of April O’Neil, a news reporter who is a friend of the four Turtles. She reprised this role on the follow-up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, which was released two years later.
Her first regular television role came in 1995, when she joined the cast of the short-lived satirical horror series American Gothic; she played the role of Gail Emory, a news reporter who returns to her hometown. In 2001, she joined the cast of the drama series The Agency, playing the role of CIA graphic artist Terri Lowell. It was during the second season that Paige met co-star Jason O'Mara. They were married in 2003 and have a son. In 2007, she joined the cast of another short-lived series, the drama Big Shots, where she played the role of Lisbeth Collinsworth, the ex-wife of cosmetics mogul Duncan Collinsworth (Dylan McDermott). She also has notable recurring roles in shows such as Party of Five, NYPD Blue and Rescue Me.
Throughout, Turco continued to star in several films. These include The Pompatus of Love, Dark Tides, Claire Makes It Big, Astoria, Waltzing Anna, Invincible, The Game Plan and The Favor.
.Both Paige and her husband Jason had similar career switches when they were younger. Paige had wanted to be a ballerina but hurt her ankle and switched to acting.
