As Brooke angrily deals with Alexs tryst with Julian, Lydias condition worsens, prompting Quinn and Haley to try to reconnect with Taylor. Clay is forced to deal with Katies unsettling advances, and Nathan helps Jamie come to terms with Lydias impending death.

It‘s not always that we get to see the cast of One Tree Hill toy with some emotionally gripping material but last night‘s episode proved to be a rare moment, and sadly it came at the expense of pulling the plug on one character. Sure there‘s tons of drama to go around with, although recently it‘s been just shallow drama involving Brulian or Clay. However, Lydia finally succumbing to her pancreatic cancer was just what the doctor ordered for Bess Armstrong, Bethany Joy Galeotti and even James Lafferty to shine.
