Actress Melissa Gallo was born on August 19, 1982 in New Jersey and is of Cuban descent. Her parents moved to the United States from Cuba during their teenage years, eventually settling down. Since childhood, Melissa Gallo was originally trained to be a dancer. She graduated from Lyndhurst High School in 200 and later received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drama from New York University, graduating in 2003. She has also been educated at Broadway Bound Dance School in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
Joining the ABC series One Life to Live in January 2004, Melissa Gallo has risen to fame as the character Adriana Col?n Cramer. She is the second actress to portray the character, taking the reins from actress Amanda Cortinas. As this was Gallo’s first acting job, she found herself willing to branch out into other projects. In 2005, she made an appearance on All My Children, portraying Adriana Cramer once more. Two years later, Gallo landed a part in the dramatic thriller Descent. The film starred Rosario Dawson, Chad Faust, Marcus Patrick, and Christopher DeBlasio. Melissa Gallo has also signed on for lead parts in the independent drama Tiny Dancer, and the comedy I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. She has also been nominated for an ALMA Award for Outstanding Performance in a Daytime Drama, because of her role on One Life to Live. Gallo is known to be an avid reader as well, and is fond of watching theater productions. On December 9, 2007, she married her One Life to Live co-star, David Fumero, who portrays Christian Vega on the soap. Gallo was also seen on a national commercial for Verizon, and was first heard on the original recording of the Vitamin C song, titled “Graduation.” She was also featured on SoapTalk, and was seen on The 31st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
