Marc Warren was born on March 20, 1967 in England. The actor has worked in film, theatre, television and radio, and is a former member of the National Youth Theatre. He later trained at the East 15 acting school, but obtained many roles despite not graduating.
Marc Warren began his professional acting career with a role in a 1988 production of Godspell. He won the part by writing to the producers, and even continued his career unrepresented until after a year. Throughout the United Kingdom, Warren has provided his voice to numerous television and radio commercials. However, he is popularly known for his portrayal of Edward Leeford in the television series Oliver Twist. He is also famous for playing careless but clever Danny Blue in the BBC series Hustle.
Warren’s first television role was in the long-running British sitcom, Grange Hill. In 1996, he was cast as the immortal Morgan D'Estaing on the fourth season of Highlander: The Series. Other roles of his include those in the hard hitting British series, The Vice and on HBO’s blockbuster miniseries, Band of Brothers. In 2003, he landed a key role in the BBC serial State of Play, and followed it up with more appearances. He later took on the character Elton Pope in an episode of Doctor Who titled “Love and Monsters.” His next project became a role in the 2006 Sky1 adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather. That was in December, and in the same month Warren got cast as Count Dracula in BBC Wales’ new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic novel. In 2007, he was seen on the drama Life on Mars, and later that year played Mr. Simpson in the BBC production of Ballet Shoes, alongside Emma Watson and Emilia Fox.
In 2008, Warren starred in the Messiah series, taking over the main role portrayed by Ken Stott. Also that year, he appeared in the blockbuster film Wanted, as “the repairman,” a member of The Fraternity.
