Hilary Duff is definitely back on the small screen!  After landing the lead on Barely Legal, the new NBC comedy series based on the true life story of Kathleen Holtz, an exceptional lawyer and the youngest person to pass the California bar exam, the former Lizzie McGuire star has acquired yet another TV gig.  According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, the 21-year-old actress will be appearing in an upcoming episode of CBS' Ghost Whisperer.

Hilary Duff has been out of the spotlight for quite some time.  She's never really left show business but after starring in the hit Disney series Lizzie McGuire, it seems that her career has been slowly fading.  Sure she's had a couple of guest roles on Joan of Arcadia and George Lopez, and added several film credits to her name for her work in A Cinderella Story, The Perfect Man and Material Girls.  But for the most part, the 21-year-old actress hasn't been visible on the small screen as she was in her younger years.

Fortunately, NBC has presented Duff the opportunity to get back in the game.  This time, she's taking the lead in Barely Legal, a new comedy based on the true life story of Kathleen Holtz.

Hilary Duff rocketed to stardom when she was cast on the Disney teen series Lizzie McGuire.  She played the lead character, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Brooke McGuire, a preppy schoolgirl who dealt with typical teenage issues.  Her best friends on the show included Miranda Sanchez (Ann Vergara-Paras) and David "Gordo" Gordon (Adam Lamberg), whom she had a crush on in the fourth grade.  Her sweet, talented and athletic character, not to mention her quirky clumsy side, which often became a running-gag throughout the series, ultimately made Duff a crowd favorite and an idol for many youngsters.

Three years have passed since the end of Lizzie McGuire but the 19-year-old celebrity still remains active in the limelight as a singer, actress and entrepreneur.

Hilary Duff, who first rose to fame by starring in the Disney series, Lizzie McGuire, has decided to put off being in a relationship for the meantime.  The singer-actress made the decision following a series of hard break-ups, the most recent of which was with Good Charlotte singer, Joel Madden.

“Obviously, I haven't jumped into a relationship, and I haven't met someone that really excites me.  I would rather be alone and learn about myself," Duff told Ryan Seacrest during KIIS-FM radio show.

Younger viewers came to know Robert Carradine as Samuel "Sam" McGuire on Disney’s Lizzie McGuire.  As Matt and Lizzie’s father, he was considered as slightly goofy and clueless about raising a teenager.  On the other hand, he was always available to lend a helping hand.  He added whim and quirkiness to the show whenever he enjoyed the clever schemes of his children, which often led to the distress of wife Jo. Moreover, he illustrated a great deal of clumsiness, which daughter Lizzie seemingly inherited.  At present, he remains in the limelight with his upcoming movie projects.

Lalaine Vergara-Paras got her TV break on the Disney original series Lizzie McGuire.  As Miranda Isabella Sanchez, she was recognized as one of the best friend’s of Lizzie McGuire (Hilary Duff), the other being Gordo (Adam Lamberg).  Although she wasn’t mean, she was considered as the radical among the trio.  Despite her abrupt departure from the show, she was able to shed light on many teenage issues and adventures in a spirited and sassy kind of way.  Before the year ends, she will be returning onscreen with an action-thriller movie.
