American actress Lina Esco was born on May 14, 1985 in Miami, Florida. After living for 14 years in her hometown, she moved to France to pursue a modeling career, and then moved to London to work in theater. There, she took her first film role, appearing as a supporting character in the romantic film London.

She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue further acting opportunities. After a guest stint in CSI: NY, she took a regular role in the drama series Cane. She played the role of Katie Vega, the only daughter of Alex (Jimmy Smits) and Isabel Vega (Paola Turbay).
