American actor and comedian Liam Sullivan was born on July 17, 1973 in Boston, Massachusetts. He is best known for producing and acting in online videos on YouTube, especially one titled Shoes, which became widely popular with millions of viewers. It was about a snobbish girl named Kelly, played by Sullivan dressed in drag, who wanted to buy shoes. In 2006, YouTube staffers chose "Shoes" as one of the top 10 videos of the year, and Entertainment Weekly listed it as one of the viral videos to watch. The video was eventually featured on MTV's Total Request Live, though in a heavily edited version.
Sullivan is also the mind behind A Liam Show, which is a collection of funny short films, monologues and music videos. He has also been credited for the short “Muffins,” and “Dr. Ulee.” Another project he got involved in was opening for Margaret Cho and appearing in her Sensuous Woman variety show. Before moving to Los Angeles, Liam Sullivan performed in the Boston area. While there, he honed his sketch comedy skills at the ACME Comedy Theater and in Another Showcase Showdown.
On television, Liam Sullivan has been seen on the series 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, Alias, and Gilmore Girls. He also appeared as his best-known character, Kelly, in the Dresden Dolls music video for “Shores of California.” Sullivan was part of the cast of VH1’s I Hate My 30s as well, playing the slightly incompetent mail room assistant Kyle. He lives together with Katie, though he doesn't seem to notice her obsession with him. He considers Katie a sister and seems to love her platonically, and recalls how when he was hunting for an apartment, Katie seemed to turn up everywhere he went by sheer coincidence. When he went on a date with Mandy at a wedding, once again, Kate was following them around and stalking him, though Kyle still didn't seem to realize it.
