'Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List' Returns Tonight

June 8, 2009

If you missed self-confessed D-list comedian Kathy Griffin and her sharp tongue, then wait no more, for her very own Bravo reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List returns tonight.  And on the fifth season premiere, the high-strung comedian reportedly rubs shoulders with some of the celebrities that she is fond of, well, talking about.

Kathy Griffin's list of guests this season includes Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin, Suzanne Somers, Rosie O'Donnell, Christina Aguilera, author Jackie Collins and rapper T.I., before his incarceration.  Throughout the show's 10 episodes, these stars will be "mentoring" Griffin on how to climb the alphabet-letter ladder of celebrity notoriety.  More excitingly, Griffin also spends "a day in the hood" with the Rev. Al Sharpton and shares bikini time with Paris Hilton.

Celebs Offer Conan Words of Wisdom for First 'Tonight Show'

June 1, 2009

After 16 years of filming Late Night with Conan O'Brien, tonight the redheaded funnyman begins his new gig as the host of The Tonight Show. He'll be joined by Will Ferrell, musical guest Pearl Jam, and will have former Late Night co-host Andy Richter by his side once more.

In anticipation of his Tonight debut, many of Conan's celebrity friends--including 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin, Apprentice host Donald Trump, and others--offered words of encouragement and advice to O'Brien, who will have all of America watching to see how he makes the gig his own.

As O'Brien recently told the New York Times, "There's an opportunity to put my stamp on this show. I've got an ego, and I want to do my Tonight Show."

"Other networks are aggressively pursuing Kathy for a multitiered deal, which would include hosting a late-night talk show, award shows, and continuing her reality show and comedy specials," a source told The New York Post.

'Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List' Renewed for Fourth Season

January 23, 2008

Despite causing an uproar from Catholic League president, Bill Donohue, for telling Jesus to "suck it" while accepting an Emmy last year, Kathy Griffin and her My Life on the D-List will be back for a fourth season. Bravo finally announced the confirmation a month after Griffin already let it slip that season 4 is in the offing.

Not only will Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List be back for a fourth turn, it returns souped up from the previous six episode order to 10.

Emmy Analysis 2007: Reality Television Nominations

July 19, 2007

While their nominations might not get quite the same amount of speculation and attention as do the noms for comedy and drama series or individual actors, reality programs are still part of the Emmy Award night. And with reality shows appearing to have outlived all the “This is just a fad” predictions, and finding themselves fairly firmly entrenched in nearly every network's schedule, the competition for the gold statuette can be just as fierce as any Survivor challenge.

Reality television awards are divided into two categories, Reality-Competition Programs, and plain ol' Reality Programs. The nominations for each category bring some heavy-hitters, some old contenders and a couple of new faces.
