Jose B. Collazo is featured as a contestant in the MTV network’s competitive reality television series Making Menudo. He is 15 years old and hails from Manati in Puerto Rico. Jose is a big fan of the original Menudo band, and considers it his life’s ambition to become a member of the new group and a leading singer. But despite his talent, he also has to contend with earning the respect of his peers, which has proven difficult because of his cocky arrogance. The other boys strongly dislike how Jose sometimes acts, as if he’s already made the cut into the final five.

His other apparent faults, in the eyes of the others, include his seeming aloofness towards them and his weaker work ethic. Jose will have to focus on reaching out to the others and improving his work attitude, especially since the judges have clearly emphasized that Menudo is meant to be a team effort instead of just the actions of one skilled devotee.
