Jorge Negrón is featured as a contestant in the MTV network’s competitive reality television series Making Menudo. He is 15 years old and hails from the sunny region of Miami in Florida. Jorge has a passion for making music, which has even led him to being discovered singing in bathrooms. While he is not considered to quite have the heartthrob appearance of a typical boy band member, he makes up for this with his strong vocal talents and grand personality, which impressed the judges during the audition screenings in Miami. One of Jorge’s main concerns now is winning over Johnny Wright in the looks department, even with his voice skills.

More importantly than ending up with a slot in the final five, however, this Menudo hopeful has another important problem in his life to deal with, namely his ailing mother. Jorge is trying to stay focused on his goal of making the cut, even as his parent suffers a relapse in cancer, with the hope that being able to join Menudo will be a boon and source of support for her.
